It's been an option for years, at least for Macs.
 
Getting ready to join in on the pre-order fun. Currently watching the local news (KGO ABC7) to pass the time.

Hopefully I can land my 64gb white.
 
I wonder if this will be sold out for a long time or readily available in a couple of weeks. If I stick with Verizon, it looks like I might be able to upgrade early. Hell, I was talking with the wife and we are so sick of our Droids that we might even consider paying to break contract early and switch to the new iPhone. We wouldn't be able to do so until late next week, though, so pre-ordering is out of the question.
 
Everyone go to bed so I can order iPhones for myself and my wife unimpeded, please.

After I returned my Photon 4G I called to ask about resetting my eligibility, they told me it can take up to one billing cycle, but since I was their "valued customer" they would reset it right away. Your best bet would be to contact customer service.

If I do give up tonight, what's the chances of them still being available for preorder tomorrow morning?
 
So will you be able to get applecare+ when ordering through verizon wireless?

So how does ordering from the apple store work when you are on a carrier and are upgrading?

You'll probably be able to preorder a phone, you just wont get it on the release date. You could try your local ATT/Verizon/Sprint store though.

I'm just teasing. Not sure how the phone itself factors the amount of preorders at the moment but you have Apple, Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T sites to get your order in as opposed to just Apple and AT&T so it might not be THAT loony.

I returned a Photon, too, a week after it came out. I called them earlier in the week and they said they would reset it but it's not showing on the site.

Guess I'll have to call again tomorrow. Hopefully they won't give me trouble if I pre-order at full price and want them to adjust it...
 
What the fuck, I have to have a credit card to preorder? I thought it got charged to your phone bill?

It's been this way forever as far as I know. The only things that get charged to your phone bill are often carrier-specific things - like apps.
 
If I bough the iPhone 4S from sprint, will the GSM be locked to a carrier, or can I use the GSM with worldwide with different carriers?
