Fuck yes, finalized my preorder, got the 64GB white one with AT&T... Moving up from a 3GS. I had the option to stay with my unlimited data plan but I just decided to go with the 4GB + tethering instead because I read that they're going to throttle the shit out of the unlimited users anyways and now I can use it to go online w my touchpad (and iPad whenever they drop the 3rd gen) when I'm out & about.

I've been looking at reviews, and a couple of them mention that it's hard to hear the phone ringing or feel it vibrating because the Kutu/Corsa muffles everything too much. The sound issue doesn't seem likely to me (at least on the current version of the case) since it has holes cut out to obviate that problem, but I wondered if your friend had mentioned anything about not being able to feel the phone on vibrate?

I was concerned about that, because my data allowance is pitiful. That's a huge relief. I'm surrounded by WiFi 90% of the time, but I hope Siri communicating with Apple's servers and the iCloud stuff doesn't eat up my MB when I'm not under a hotspot. I'd *like* to just order this phone from Apple if I can, but I'm having problems because my line isn't actually due for an upgrade (btw, I am on Verizon). HOWEVER, I'm on a family plan of 4, and the OTHER three lines ARE due for an upgrade. My line's upgrade was actually used on my sister when she got her own iPhone a few months ago, but now her own line is upgradeable, and so are both of my parents' lines, so I'd like to use them on my line. I know this is possible by going to a Verizon store, because the employees allow this without any difficulty. My question then: Does anyone know how to switch the upgrades on different phone lines?

Ordered mine at around 7:30 AM eastern, from Apple Canada, unlocked. Mine says "Processing items" but the charge has went through and the availability says "Ships by October 14th".

Incidentally, I will just be getting a white iPhone 4. That's perfect for me until the iPhone 5, when I'll be able to upgrade 5.
My experience with lots of different voice technology is that it simply doesn't work, especially with more exotic names. That is why I said if Apple can get it to work it is definitely a game changer. When it comes out someone add Novak Djokovic as a contact and see if the iPhone calls the correct number when you say the name. I haven't really seen anything that can do that yet unless you record the name and it tries to match it up with what you are saying, that is not what Apple is implying with this. I really don't have high hopes for it, but I am really interested in seeing if it can work.Tobor said:

Your charge went through, Stump? You mean you checked your credit card online and it's already posted? My MasterCard shows nothing yet online. I don't remember if Apple calls your house to verify the order because it is a big ticket item over a few hundred dollars. I forget if they did that when I bought my iMac. I know Futureshop or Best Buy do that.

You know, if Google announced Google Maps with Navigation and a native Gmail and Gcal app for the iPhone, I would totally buy an iPhone without hesitation. It's the main thing holding me back right now. I'm so knee-deep in using Google's services (and prefer most of them over Apple's) that it's making the dive into iPhone hard for me. What do you guys think? 
. I want an iPhone pretty badly, but the Nexus Prime/Ice Cream Sandwich makes this decision a lot harder.
So, Google-heavy users that have iPhones:
-Do you find Apple's mail app to be sufficient for Gmail? Can I use all of Gmail's tags and extra features that makes Gmail awesome in the first place?
-Same thing for Calendar? I don't really care for Apple's calendar, but does the Apple iPhone app sync well with Gcal with all the bells and whistles?
-Do you think we'll eventually get either a GOOD, FREE Navigation app from Apple or will Google EVER put it on iPhone (maybe when Navigation is formally out of beta???). By doing a search online, it seems that most of iPhone's turn-by-turn isn't as good, or it costs a lot of money.

I'd also like to know this, specifically the turn by turn question. That's the only thing that made me really really wanna hold onto my Droid X. I'm horrible with directions, and since I'm a new driver, I'm constantly going new places that I use Navigation for. I need to have a turn by turn app for the iPhone....Pyrokai said:

I really want to order this phone but I need to see what the Prime is gonna be like...I'll probably still end up with the 4S as after being on android for awhile now has shown me that specs alone doesn't cut it.

I find it sufficient for Gmail but then again I don't use a ton of the extra features. I can move stuff around and search through my Gmail so that's been good enough for me on the go.
It syncs very well. I've got multiple Google Calendars set up. One for me, one for me and my wife, and one for my daughter. The one for me and my wife and the one for my daughter are shared calendars that I have with my wife so either of us can update it and the other will see it instantly on our phone. So ya, I'd say Google Calendar works great since we can easily share and sync our schedules together.
I think we'll see one from Apple, but I'm curious how it will stack up against Google. I've always hated the idea of Google Maps being removed from the iPhone so it'll have to be damn good for me not to consider Android as an alternative when they do this.

Does anyone know how many phones the At&t stores usually get in? I didn't preorder, but I might have a spot in line, but I'm curious how many they usually get in.

I'm having some small regret about not getting the white one too. Hope it passes! But then if I got the white I'd be fretting over the black.
I sure hope so, I ordered mine BEFORE 3 AM EST since Verizon opened their preorders a few minutes earlier than everyone else for whatever reason. That and the fact that I got a 32 gig, (the 16 seems to have sold out first) is making me think Verizon is just being overly cautious. I will not be happy if I have to wait for the following week, but not much we can do at this point.JackEtc said:

Goodness, when I think about it, the Maps app on iPhone for me would be incredibly pointless. Like, I would use it only for directions, so I'd just have the directions brought up on my phone and I'd basically be using it like a sheet of paper with directions written down. Why not just have it do turn by tuuuurnnnnn for me?
