So just to be fully sure, if I were to get a White 4S there shouldd be no worry about discolouration because it's sandwiched between glass? Seen the normal iPhone 4 White phones in stores and fuck they are sexy! Going with O2.

Really? I managed to change my shipping address after I placed my order. It was supposed to ship to my house, but it's now shipping to my workplace in San Francisco.
Hrmm, where is that? I don't see a change shipping address option. At least not through AT&T.

Anyone else excited for Friday?

Maybe. I may not be able to get a 4S (I haven't pre-ordered, but I am camping out at the store with a friend), but I will most likely just get a 4 if they are out of 4s phones.

Don't do this, you'll only save $100, or more if you were going to get more memory on the 4S, but you'll still be locked into a 2 year contract. The money saved won't make a huge difference after you pay for your contract and you'll be stuck with an older model phone.

The way I understand it, if you're a new Sprint customer, they'll only ship to the address listed as the billing address on your card.

I'm not a new Sprint customer.

I just spent almost an Hour with Customer Service and they REFUSE to change my shipping address.

My anger levels are rising.

Question: if I started a new contract with Verizon and transferred number, does my AT&T contract auto-cancel on activation or do I need to call?

Still wish I'd gotten the white :/

Hmm.. this is true. I guess I could wait until the next batch of 4s' come out. I just hope I can deal with my crappy phone until then! :(

Just pre-order one now and you'll probably get it in 2 weeks or so.

Ahh sorry then. I ordered through apple and they let you change the shipping address.

Maybe you can call AT&T up and see if they can change it over the phone?

I would totally do that if I had the money right now. I actually get paid the day before the 4s comes out. :/

Well then, I'd either camp out or just order one when you have the money. Waiting a couple of weeks for the 4s is probably much better than 2 years of the 4.

quick question, will the iPhone 4 cases at apple fit the 4s? does anyone know if stores sell 4s cases on location? planning to visit apple on wed.

also is there an OT iPhone 4s case?

Mweh, don't care that much. What will happen is I'll just drive to the Fedex facility and pick it up in person.

At this rate, you might as well look for any of the iPhone 4 'Universal' cases or Verizon specific ones as it seems that the 4S is the same phone across all carriers - regardless if they're GSM or CDMA.

The Universal cases should fit the 4S as the cutout for the mute switch is longer than the previous AT&T 4 cases.

That works too.

Quick carrier poll: AT&T, Verizon or Sprint? Are you sticking with your existing provider or switching?

Old AT&T to Verizon switcher here.

Sticking with AT&T when I eventually get a 4S, I don't use it often but I don't want to lose the ability to use data and talk at the same time. Well that and I need to use a GSM carrier.

Sticking with Sprint, SERO-P, $50, finally my dream has come true!

Longtime Sprint user moving off android. Have a sick ass SERO plan

AT&T and sticking with them.

I've rarely had problems with them, even in SF. If I know that data's going to be a mess, I like being able to switch to Edge for as long as I need to then switch back to 3G when out of the city.

Auron - Is there anything on the package that distinguishes universal case vs a 4s specific case?

The bumpers that Apple carries in their store are all universal, as well as all the third-party cases. For online orders, they tend to be specific if it fits the AT&T model (GSM) or are the universal ones (CDMA & GSM). But as far as specific 4S cases, none have been released yet.

AT&T, and I'm sticking with them. AT&T actually has decent call quality here, and Sprint's service here suuuuuuuucks. I didn't switch to Verizon because I prefer GSM and simultaneous talk and data, and Verizon would have cost almost exactly the same.

AT&T, been with them for a LOOOONG time.. AT&T -> Cingular -> AT&T.

Never had major issues with them here in the Seattle area.

Verizon, been with them for years. Their service and coverage can't be beat.

Sticking with AT&T. So far, I'm not willing to give up unlimited data, $5 text plan, and data while using voice. When AT&T forces me to do that, then I'll probably switch to Sprint.

89K? Haha wow. "Not much of an upgrade", "This is the end of Apple, I am an expert", "Nobody is going to buy it"... well, so much for that.

I was planning on waiting for my Verizon contract to expire in February, and then switch to AT&T (their coverage is pretty damn good here in Seattle), but I saw that I was eligible for early upgrade as of 10/08/2011 (20 months), and didn't want to wait any longer to get rid of this shitty Droid 1. I didn't pre-order, though, so I'll be waiting out in the cold in the wee hours of 10/14.

So is the new app better or worse? Knowing Facebook it might be worse.

For me it's not that it wasn't a performance upgrade, but what are you going to use that takes advantage of it?

Everything? Better performance all around makes for a much smoother user experience. The jankiness and generally awful performance is what makes me dislike the original Droid more than anything else.

Graphically intensive games will also run a lot better. Doesn't Infinity Blade only run at like 20-30fps even on the iPhone 4?

I'm upgrading from a 16gb 3Gs to a 64gb 4S, and sticking with AT&T (largely because of grandfathered unlimited plan).

Because the iPhone 4 is a sluggish mess right now.... Graphically intensive games is the only area that I see it being a benefit any time soon and even then, it'll be only a few games that are more intensive. Developers aren't going to alienate everyone else because of new hardware.

I've got no idea either, but compare it to the iPhone 4's 30k~ or the iPhone 4 with iOS 5's 51k, and it seems like a pretty substantial improvement.

Of course they won't, but it doesn't hurt to have more performance, quicker load times, and faster application close times. I haven't touched the iPhone 4 much, but I know my iPod Touch (2nd gen) can be fairly sluggish when opening menus or apps. I'm sure the iPhone 4 is orders of magnitudes better, but you can always improve on that unless every menu and app is already opening and closing instantaneously.

I also think the 4S will see a lot more people upgrading from the 3GS and before than from the iPhone 4, so there will be a substantial boost for them.
