It costs $99 with a deductible of $49. So to replace your phone if you break it will be $150. Without applecare+ it would cost $200 to replace the phone. Statistically it's not worth it.n3ss said:

Because it costs $99 + a $49 replacement fee compared to a $199 replacement fee if you don't have AppleCare. You only benefit to save $50 if you plan to break your phone once every two year cycle. The second you don't, you've wasted money. So it's better in the long run to not pay for AppleCare+ and pay the $199 replacement fee compared to being commited to a minimum of $99 every cycle for not even using it.n3ss said:

Mine has been saying that too but in one of the emails that Sprint sent me, it said that UPS tracking probably won't update until the 14th. I checked the order status on Sprint's website and they said they shipped it already so I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get mine on time. Guise I pre-ordered my 4S but still don't know if taking the 16 or 32gb route. I don't plan to have all my music or videos in it, just plenty of apps/games, pics and some tunes, will 16 gigs suffice? first real smartphone btw, 28th can't come soon enough.

If you go overboard though on apps - particularly games - just know that some of these apps are huge. Something like Infinity Blade is nearly a gig and any Cave shooter is at least 500+ megs.
Oh and recording tons of videos will eat up space too.

i ordered my phone from at&t on friday around 8am pacific...order status is still "pre-order" and

i was probably too lateI had to use my account # for sprint in ups track by reference to find my shipping #. Never got an email, never got a confirmation, sprint order status still says processing. If UPS doesn't have these phones yet, where the fuck are they? You can't make it from China to the US in 24 hours (assuming they ship tomorrow).
So preparing for the new phone is a lot like moving. I'm parsing my playlists, cleaning out the apps I don't need and never use and generally doing my best to start off with the slate as clean as I can get it.
Any tips for the transition? Unfortunately I don't think iCloud is going to be any use to me when I activate my phone at work tomorrow or Friday since I'm coming from a 3G. Anything to do besides sync up when I get home?

Well if you're in Canada and ordered from Apple, there's some good news (for me at least) - I'm now at "Preparing for shipment", which means technically I should have it either friday or next monday.
UPS works this way - China -> Anchorage -> Louisville KY -> Montreal for me. Every single time. Whenever I order stuff from Play-Asia, that's the exact route it takes, and typically it's one day for China to Louisville, then one day to Montreal (arrives during the night) then it's on the truck.

Here's a question for you: I ordered my 4S from Apple last Friday on AT&T and will be upgrading from a crappy flip phone. Is Apple going to send me a micro sim or do I need to hit up an ATT store to pick one up? Or should I just chop my current one up and see how that works? (Still have a 3g card from Cingular...)

relax, guys. i reserved last week at a telus store and they still haven't called to tell me it's been ordered or when it's going to arrive. they just said i was the first at that store for the 64gb white so i assumed it would be soon. it's a crap telus store so i seriously doubt i'll be getting it for at least another week or two lol.

Not sure if the right place to ask, but here goes. I have an at&t iphone 4 that I'm thinking of selling on ebay. How much could I likely get for it if I unlocked it? It has some scratches on it, and the camera lens has some scratches that cause glares in pictures. I really want a 4s with siri.. and kind of want to jump ship to verizon.
