What kind of screen protectors are you all using? Amazon has a surprising like of Prime-eligible, decent looking screen protectors. I'm going naked with my iPhone, but my wife wants a screen protector, so I'm trying to get some suggestions.
Get her one of those mirror ones.

My favorite iPhone 4S photo so far, which I took on Wednesday at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The Tower of Terror is my favorite ride, and the lobby is one of the most amazing things Disney's ever created.

Ugh, why do you people make your phones look so ugly with those cases. Just go caseless and stop putting it in the same pocket as your keys.

Yeah since that will stop it from getting damaged from possible drops.

Also not all cases are ugly "otter box like". There are a good # that fit with the style of the phone.

People are so sensitive about their cases. It's hilarious.

lol I'm not really sensitive, it's just that many who are against cases seem to think that they all look like ugly bulgy otter boxes when they don't.

I just have an invisible shield on the front and back of my phone and I think its great. I was originally considering getting a case, but I like the feel and elegance of the phone as it is. I just dont like the weird textured look the invisible shield has at certain angles.

^Clear slim cases or shields are the way to go (imo).

Protect your phone while at the same time maintaining how the phone looks without a case.

Yep. I use the iSkin Claro. Minus a tiny bit of branding on the bottom, it's pretty much totally clear, and rubberized so it will prevent minor shock damage, and it also makes it more difficult to slip out of your hand.

Looks great on my white one too. Since it's white, you can see the black ring they put around the camera hole which supposedly prevents the flash from reflecting off of the case and back into the lens. Obviously it's not noticeable on a black iPhone.

Have you guys been buying your iPhones with a contract, or outside a contract?

I kind of want an iPhone, but I don't like the idea of signing a contract... Although I lost my iPod touch, I need a Camera, my phone sucks... I should probably get one. But the 64gb is soo expensive outside of a contract. Then again I could always sell it next year which gives me the option to upgrade to an iPhone 6.

Dude, thats worse than wearing a fanny pack, what the fuck are you thinking with wanting a minimal case that protects and still shows the beautiful design of the phone. Idiot.

I agree with everything you said minus the idiot part. Fanny Pack++

Finally got a tracking number for my 32gb Black iP4s! Pre-ordered on the 10th, and I'm finally going to get it 15 days later.

Reminds me of when I bought a Minority Report DVD from Half.com years ago and it took so long to ship that I forgot about it till the day it actually arrived.

With contract. I never have the money to do it outside (I'm a college student lol).

I'm selling my old 3GS on ebay and so far I will at least get $150 from it.

So in the future I might just break out of contract if I want a new iPhone via getting money from selling my old one.

iPhone 4's are still going for $250+ on ebay so I'm pretty sure that 4S' will go for around the same when the new iPhone comes out.

Argh. Received my 4S but I only have a regular-sized SIM and my work's wifi has a browser-based authentication that the iPhone won't open. Looks like I'm stuck with my 3GS until I can get to my telco :/

It didn't come with a SIM pre-installed? Mine did. Did you buy it fully unlocked or something?

you can cut your current sim using scissors or a knife in 30 seconds.

Not sure I'm confident enough, but I might give it a crack. Will still get an official microSIM later this arvo though. Thanks for the tip :)

Outside.

So now im getting the impression that my original 16gb 4s had a faulty battery because in the week i had it it woulda've never pulled this off:

And heres another pet pic since we havent had one in a few pages, taken earlier today. The camera is amazing (for a phone):

The ridiculously huge original size is here http://www.flickr.com/photos/68982090@N02/sets/72157627963046420/.
I can definitely see myself taking lots of more pics now that i dont have to have an extra camera with me all the time.

How do you guys get the full size image to go up on Flickr? Mine automatically re-sizes to 1024 x 768 =\
Only way i found is to upgrade to pro for $25 a year, its cheap enough that I consider it a good way of having an extra backup just in case.
Speaking of Siri, I wonder how they improve its pronunciation behind the scenes. When i first got it I had my mom as "Mi Vieja" (thats an informal way of calling our parents back home) and Siri would pronounce it as "Me Vee-jah." Then less than a week later, I ask it to call mom and the awkward pronunciation was gone and instead it had a the correct way of pronouncing it (albeit with an accent).

Case I use for my iPhone 4:

HYw5U.jpg

Incipio NGP

It is a great case that can be had for under $20 and does not look bad but I have gone back to having my iPhone naked. Never used a case outside of a couple of weeks with my iPhone 2G, after 3 years of use I never dropped it. All the glass got me a bit paranoid when I first got my phone but that wore off.

If anyone here wants a case and still hasn't decided, go with this one:

Speck Candyshell

I got mine on Friday from the Apple Store and it's amazing! Fits the phone perfectly and has the big opening on the camera so there are no flash issues. It's also not a "hard case" even though it says candyshell, feels great in the hand.

I'm torn on this, the Insipio Feather, or the Incase Snap. I want to learn towards the Candyshell because it appears to offer a bit more protection, plus I feel like the holes in the inside would help avoid scratching of dirt on the back and sides. But the con would be it seems a bit too bulky. Does it add a substantial amount to the size?

Enough so that it actually protects the phone, but it's quite form-fitting. Go ahead and buy it, you won't regret it trust me.

If you order through Speck's website (http://www.speckproducts.com/iphone-case/iphone-4-case/candyshell-for-iphone-4s.html) with coupon code GOODBETTERSPECK, you can get 20% off. Unfortunately the selection is limited right now, but I've heard they're supposed to be restocking the out-of-stock colors pretty soon. I was able to get the black Candyshell for $27.96 shipped.

I was going to do that until I realized they were out of stock for the White, so I just went ahead to the Apple Store and spent the extra ~$10. They pretty much get new stock every day. I was too scared of having my iPhone naked and getting a scratch on it lol.

I was taking photos outside today, and found myself wishing I had a bit more grip. No drops or slips, but I'd have liked a bit more security in the hand that I didn't previously feel was needed. The upshot of this is that I had no further compunction about ordering a Graft Leverage. So glad to have the excuse. I was already leaning towards picking one up for my wife, so this afternoon I ordered two of them. Will report back in 2-4 weeks when they arrive.

anyone know why I would be getting two tones every time I get an email in gmail?

I had this same problem.

Go into Settings -> Mail, Contact, Calendars -> Gmail account -> Mail Folder to Push and make sure that only the Inbox is set up. For some reason I had all of my folders set to push when I first set it up, so I was getting a push message for the Inbox and then the All Mail box, as well.

Yeah, anyone who doesn't have at least a bumper is just asking for trouble. It's way too thin and slippery lol
