Anybody having issues with importing photos and video? I've had every iPhone since the creation and never had any issues. However with the 4S, I'm having the following issues:
1. Imported photos are not always in proper orientation. When I try to rotate and save, keep getting a message saying it can't be saved.
2. Imported videos are also sometimes not in proper orientation.
3. Worst of all is when I try to play back videos on my PC that have been recored on iPhone 4S, they play choppy and horribly out of sync.
Just discovered the issue tonight as I was trying to clean out my iphones camera roll.
For the record I have Windows 7.

Anyone having issues with the iPhone 4s receiving calls and the caller can't hear you? Also I some times hear my. Own voice in the head set when I am othe phone. Is this a software bug or hardware?

Okay, this is bullshit. I connected my iPhone to my PC and iTunes deleted almost all of my apps. Can I avoid this somehow?

Hey Giga, I have one more question for you if you don't mind helping. How bad is using 2G when in apps? Is it any better than a webpage? Like say I want to use the NY Times app to read some headlines, is it better than surfing the web? Is it still painfully slow when in an app or is it more bearable? Thanks again for your help.

It was my main computer but I deleted all the apps from iTunes before connecting my iPhone. Took a look at the options and saw that I had sync on and disabled it but when I connect it again the apps are copied over to my PC.

I decided this week to shed my case and go naked with my 4 and damn it's almost like I have a new phone. I went caseless with my 3G and 3GS, but the glass of the 4 made me feel like I needed some kind of drop protection and something to provide a better grip of the phone. I've gotten over those fears and I'm happy with my decision. I appreciate the design of the phone so much more now. It's so smooth and minimalistic looking, yet has just the right amount of weight and thickness as to not feel cheap.
I love my phone. lol.

Get the silver bevelled backplate from CNN.cn... it will look even better and I *think* be a tad lighter, too. I'd take photos, but my only camera is on my phone
I now have a white 4s and I must say, I prefer it over my previous black iphone. Maybe it's just because it's new and different to me, but damn it looks good!
I have some questions about my new 4S. I was recommended the nightstand app for setting alarm clocks etc but this night, it drained 30% of my battery life in 8 hours. Is this normal? This is my first smartphone so I'm not used to having to recharge the battery basically every other day. Where can I read about what functions to turn off to save battery life etc?
Also, if I'm web browsing with Safari for instance, is it enough to just press the home button (or whatever it's called?) to make it stop using memory resources? Fairly confusing phone to be honest xD While at home, I let it stay connected to my wireless lan to avoid using the 3G network to save money. Should I disconnect that as well when not in use?

Black is the classier choice and rarer now too.
What part of "back plate" makes it sound like it's a case? Cut the arrogant tone unless you've actually read what I posted, understood it and can find something to pick apart with it.
Does the back plate replace the glass or go over it?
It's a back plate. Google it. If it would go over it, I guess you could say it would be covering it? Then it would probably be called a cover, one would think.
Edit: Apologies for the smarmyness. But seriously, just look up "iphone backplate" and all your questions will be answered.

I was hoping it would be receiving less data or something so it would be quicker. Does siri work at all or is it just really slow also? I've heard conflicting reports of it not working at all or just being slower.iOS automatically closes programs after a period of time, at least that I've noticed. No worries. I never manually close anything and my battery life is terrific.
Also, WiFi actually SAVES battery life, because then you're not sending every little data need over the cellular network. WiFi is much more efficient, and by a good deal. When I'm out of the office and not using WiFi for the majority of my day, I will lose a good 20% of battery life.
Finally, get used to throwing the thing on a charger every night. Unless you are a super light user, it's just something you have to get used to with smartphones.

That back actually looks really awesome. Does it really void your warranty though? That's sort of a bummer if it does, or can you just switch back with out them being able to tell?
Well, I guess if you're talking about in comparison to full websites then yeah mobile apps which only fetch text and small images like RSS or Instapaper aren't as slow but it's all relative to what you expect. 3G is just a lot lot faster.
I don't have a 4S so I'm not sure about Siri.

Ah, ok. Ya, like I said mostly by me is 2G anyhow but where I go to school has 3G or 4G so I don't know how much I would actually use something else.
Does anyone know if apple has a grace period for opened phones? Like can I just buy an unlocked use it for a week and then if the 2G is bothering me too much return it for a full refund and get an android phone instead? Would they do it or charge a restocking fee or anything. Like I said before all the stores are in at least 3G areas by me so it's hard to see how much it bothers me since the ones in store will always have 3G or better. :/ If they're flexible about returns then it would be like a no brainer.

It's fine, it just wasn't immediately clear to me (and obviously the guy that questioned it in the first place) that you weren't suggesting that adding something to the device might make it lighter.

While no one knows anything definitive about what the 5 is going to be about, there is a pretty strong feeling that it will be a redesign of somekind.
There isn't any guarantee, but I'd say there's a 75% chance that we're going to see a redesign...but my guess is about as good as anything you're going to find online. Just no way to know!
Yeah I do. For me, it's when I make the call, and the other person can 't hear me. When they call me back, it's all good. Happened alot when I first got the phone, but hasn't really done it lately.
I never heard myself though, so don't know about that.
I really hope it is a software thing.
I don't actually think it does. So long as you don't fiddle with any of the components (battery etc.) then all warranty labels stay in place. All you need to do is remove two screws at the base with a special screwdriver (that can be had for cheap on eBay), push the back toward the top with your thumbs and it'll click, it can then be lifted out easily. Then, just replace it with whatever back you like! I've had a few (one from when I was going to buy a 4 (gunmetal), another with a flat edge (silver), and my current one that's bevelled (silver again)) but stuck with the latter one.

me and the wife got our phones! love them!

If it is consistently reproducible even after a turn off/on of the phone I'd consider doing a fresh iOS 5.0.1 restore in iTunes to see if that fixes it. If not, consider a replacement.
In case you miss it the first time I guess. You can turn this off (or increase the frequency) in Notifications.
It's just a repeat alert in case you missed it the first time. You can change the number of repeat alerts in the notifications settings pane. I wish the interval rate was configurable, but it's not. (Fixed at 2 minute intervals.)

It's actually a little lighter (I couldn't say how much, I didn't use my phone at all when it was just glass *and* w/o a cover) and I'd say it's 1 or 2mm thicker at most. If at all. Never got an accurate impression of the thickness without the metal backplate either

I've got a question... With imessenger or whatever to talk between iphones, I'm assuming you can send internationally without any charges right? I'm assuming it works the same as an instant messaging program?
Yep. Just make sure the "send" button is in blue instead of green (meaning it will be sent through your internet connection instead of SMS). I'm in South America and I've been using iMessage with a friend in Canada constantly with no issues, including sending videos and pictures.
