Did anyone else notice the App that costs $449 dollars? MyAccountsToGo

Hah! If I wrote a really shitty iPhone app, I'd probably charge $999 for it and hope just a handful of people bought it thinking $9.99.

EDIT: J/K, I'm actually not a total d-bag/crook.

Is anyone else having issues with it taking 20+ to backup your iphone every time you dock it?
Yeah, it's definitely much slower than it was before 2.0 (for my Touch). The iPhone also takes a long time for the first sync after opening iTunes. But after the initial sync, the subsequent syncs are very normal (i.e. fast) for both the Touch and iPhone.

yeah, I just saw that.

and there's a free demo too.

that's gotta be one HELL of a demo to upsell a 450 dollar app, lol.

This screenshot at their site just screams OMG ALL OVER MY HAIR AND $500 to me: myaccountstogo.com/

No iPhones around here for at least the next 2 weeks. Looks like the market has decided for me! There will be no spontaneous iPhone for me.

But I am! Come on, I will be the Jobs to your Woz.

I've noticed that my contacts list hangs up every time I try to call. It takes about 5 seconds to recognize my input--and the keyboard is real laggy when inputing text or anything.

This didn't happen before my update to 2.0. Is anyone else noticing some hangups anywhere in the phone? Its not killing me but its pretty frustrating when trying to make a quick call.

If you're depending on iWeb for your website, I'm not trusting your application to talk to my enterprise data!

Where are you with that kind of shortage???

Are people still standing in long lines outside Apple Stores? I wonder how many days this will last...

Yes. I called the Apple store in downtown Chicago two hours before closing tonight hoping there would be no line. Instead I was told that they were not taking anymore people to get in line and we would have to try tomorrow.

ANd this is why I got out of line when I was about to pick up iPhone #2 for the wife.

Well luckily it won't be like that next month because of the $36 activation fee. So I am expecting around $100 bucks after this month.

So, I just did a battery stress test, running it down from full to zero while watching the all star game. it lasted around 2:55 minutes with screen brightness at 50% (default) and doing nothing but browsing on 3G data and playing MotionX poker.

This was my first complete drainage of the battery. Hopefully I see some improvement tomorrow after this full drainage/recharge cycle.

maybe i should uninstall some apps or turn off 3G at work?

If not... yikes.

This is my first iphone and its happening to me too.

If the keyboard for texting is really sluggish, just press the home button and then go back to the SMS app and everything will be normal again. Apple really needs to fix that in 2.0.1 though, its pretty irritating. I hope they can add in a bit better battery life tweaks in the new firmware too, with lots of heavy web browsing and MotionX Poker, this thing drains fast.

Redmond, WA. I ended up hitting 3 locations and heard slight variations on the same thing. I'd really rather get it from an AT&T store because I'd like to see in detail what will happen to my bill.

should i be kind of disturbed that in the few days of owning a touch 2.0, it's crashed and just flat out reset on me countless times?

I went to an AT&T store in Redding, CA today and got the same 2+ weeks quote, which kinda surprises me since there's no 3G access here and it's not exactly the richest place in the state.

The Apple website lied about iPhone availability at the Apple Store I went to today. I'm not trying again until August.

I'm waiting until mid-August to bite, since that's when my T-Mobile contract is up. Hopefully things will look a bit better by then. According to that locator, there's white 16GBs available at one store in MA, and that's it. Not even any at the new Boston store, the biggest one in the country; you'd think maybe they'd have a higher allocation of units.

The Apple iPhone availability site is a crock of shit. Please don't rely on it. I wasted three hours today going to stores that were supposed to be stocked up with each model--they were all sold out, and two of the stores told me they haven't had anything in stock for two days.

So the site is pretty much making shit up.

What's this 2+ weeks thing people are hearing? What's that refer to? When they get more in stock? When you can walk in and buy one without it being a hassle?

Do you think Apple could implement a function that would allow portrait and landscape orientations to be available at all times (maybe with a future update)?

The manager at AT&T told me that's when they'd be getting the next shipment, but I don't know if that implies actual availability.

Why am I still unable to find out my voice usage using "*646#?"

I've had the phone since launch, yet it still says I have 450 min remaining, which is completely wrong.

Are AT&T's systems extremely slow to update? With Verizon, I could send a text to #MIN within a few min of finishing a call and my usage stats would update.

What are your concerns with you bill? I thought the plans were fairly straight forward and easy to understand. When I got my first gen last year I knew exactly what the bill would be before I even went to the store thanks to the plan pricing being laid out ahead of time.

I'm in Chicago, anyone know when the next shipments/availability for this gorgeous little creature here? My gf's mom is going to buy us matching iPhones for our birthday (yep, it's on the same day.)

as far as i know, it's the only store in the midwest (not just the state) with any phones in stock.

I live in Chicago and have now officially gotten to the age where I don't have the time or patience to stand in line. And, with AT&T's direct fullfillment system, why should I? I ordered my iPhone on Saturday and it shows "shipping pending" right now. In other words, they're preparing to ship today or tomorrow and I'll hopefully have my phone by Saturday.

It will ship directly to the Evanston store with my name on it and I'll get an email & phone call that it's in stock. Why would you wait in line? I don't get it...

After checking availability I'm stoke I was able to get one on Sunday, in ten minutes, when the store opened at noon...with zero wait time. I got there at like 5 to noon and walked out with my phone at 12:15 or so.

What I don't understand is how the majority of Apple stores haven't gotten a single shipment of new phones since Friday. Did Apple really ship every phone they had in the country before they went on sale?

This is contrary to what I've heard, which is that most stores are getting new shipments daily, but they're still selling out.

Also, remember that they've sold over a million world-wide since last Friday. That's no small accomplishment. Last year's launch had issues and it was a U.S. only release.

Anybody knows what are the iPhone prices for existing AT&T users ? I've read that the $199 & $299 prices are only for new AT&T customers.

so then that iphone availability thing is completely worthless on apple's website? it has never said that the stores around here are going to have stock when they open in the morning.
