I left 2.x and I have no desire to go back. 1.1.4 is super stable, super responsive, no keyboard lag, no reception problems, lightning fast backup.......plus I get all of my jailbroken apps back. iSolitaire, FileBrowser, Agile Messenger, etc.

Dunno what to say, my original EDGE iPhone works fine in 2.0.2. I see the keyboard lag sometimes but I don't text that much anyway so it doesn't bother me that much.

I'd wait till it happens again, take it to the Apple Store, let them know that it keeps happening even after a restore, and see what they tell you. They may just get you another phone.
Some of this major stuff is way beyond the normal lag/buggy 2.0 problems. You guys have way more patience than I do; something that major/frequent, and I'd try to be getting that shit fixed or replaced pretty quickly.

So like is there a way to manually go into the iPhone and "explore" it or whatever? You know, drag the pictures from the iPhone to my desktop and stuff?

Do a backup, then a restore. Fixed it for me.
Anyone having issues with 3G? Lately I've been using the last.fm app (with 4/5 bar 3G coverage) and it was constantly rebuffering, so I restarted the phone, and all was fine for 1 or 2 songs, until it started constantly rebuffering again.
I just disabled 3G on my phone and I have yet for it to rebuffer once, it also wasn't much slower than 3G to buffer...I'm wondering if this is indicating a problem with the firmware, the hardware, or just the Rogers 3G network. The fact that it was super fast for a bit after restarting the phone suggests its not Rogers.
EDIT: never mind, it lasts for about 2 songs on either 3G or EDGE before it just starts rebuffering all the time...weird.

I'm loving my 3g, but I've gotten the apple logo of death four times now in the span of two weeks. If backups could be done somewhat reasonably fast I wouldn't care as much, but I don't have the time to wait over an hour just to do a backup when I install a few new apps. It's extremely frustrating, I'm hoping that 2.1 in September does something to help with this.

EDIT: Oh and 3g is driving me crazy. I'll get 5kbps one morning and then in the afternoon in the same elocation, 900kbps. Edge is a pretty consistant 200kbps though.

I'd like to see improved internet surfing. Basically a better way to quickly scroll pages instead of having to flick your finger six million times to get to the bottom of some long web pages.
The typing lag needs to be fixed.
It needs turn-by-turn GPS.
Obviously needs push gmail and aim.
Needs to use the camera to record video (my god I can't believe it doesn't already do this).
I think it's a pretty revolutionary device all in all but it needs improvement in some keys areas.

EDIT: I'd also like to say Apple has been great at acknowledging their MobileMe messup...so much though that I started the "60-day" trial on July 11th and as of today I have 140 days remaining. It's been great having all my mail pushed to the phone, but it's not in a state where I'd pay $110 a year for it yet (Canadian price)
