So far I haven't found a replacement for Google Reader that is actually worth the money.

I found NetNewsWire which is pretty nifty, but that syncs with NewsGator instead of Google Reader, and NewsGator's web site pretty much sucks balls.
NetNewsWire it is for now, then. I'll check out Byline if I ever decide I want more.Jtwo said:So far I haven't found a replacement for Google Reader that is actually worth the money.

xcrunner529 said:Ok Safari and its constant crashing is really driving me up the wall. I can't ever just browse a forum for longer then 20 or so replies before it crashes. Does anyone else notice this? How in the heck does anyone even begin to accomplish one of the many things Apple says this phone is good for?
Could someone try accessing the "post your cat pics" thread with the Neogaf webapp or some other photo-intensive thread and see if their phone crashes? If I skip down it seems at any decent rate to get toward the middle of a page it crashes the browser. I did a full restore and even set up this phone as a new one instead of using a backup, hoping it'd help the problem but no dice. I also tried clearing history, cache, etc. This is such BS
Kung Fu Jedi said:As I've mentioned before, I rarely have crashes with Safari, but I have noticed that it is far more prone to them in image intensive threads. Something we've known since the iPhone launched, but it's more stable if I let the thread load completely before starting to scroll. Some of the few times it has crashed is when I didn't wait and started to scroll down.

I need help with tethering.
I'm using the following app:

I can't get it to connect. Says 'No Wifi' at the bottom. I don't see 'Iphone Modem' in the network settings as indicated in that image either. Anyone hear use this?
Also, once I do get this to work... Will I be charged extra?
Found this in the T&C:

Got it connected to Ad-Hoc, but I'm starting to think that iPhoneModem is a Mac only solution...
Using PDANet instead. Worked perfectly.
Same here. I lost my 16gb iPhone while on vacation and bought a new 8g one. Now I can't surf pages on Safari longer than 1 minute before it crashes. My older iPhone didn't seem as bad. But this is frustrating!xcrunner529 said:Ok Safari and its constant crashing is really driving me up the wall. I can't ever just browse a forum for longer then 20 or so replies before it crashes. Charred Greyface said:Apparently I was wrong. PDANet just informed me that the free trial is over (didn't even know there was a trial) and I'd have to pay $30 to resume using the full package. I can still connect to http connections with the unpaid for version so the browser is fine. I guess I could check my mail using the web client. It's worth it IMO just wish they didn't sneak up on me like this.

Just log into your account at ATT to make sure. Breaks it down in detail.bionic77 said:How accurate is the usage time stat you get in the iPhone settings?
And is there an app which can give you a more detailed breakdown?
I wonder how accurate that counter is sometimes.
That won't let you know how much time is spent on using programs or listening to music or movies.RubxQub said:Just log into your account at ATT to make sure. Breaks it down in detail.
Juice said:Anyone else notice that Gruber has reached stratospheric levels of awesome in the last five months or so? There used to be a dozen or more sources of Apple-tinted feeds worth reading out there, and I'm still subscribed to all of them, but out of all of my feeds if there's a Daring Fireball (1) on there, I bee-line for it. Almost always good.
How do I re-download it if I already have it installed?centracore said:The new version of Google Mobile App with voice search is up! It doesn't show as a new version in the App Store (or as an update available for it if you already have it) but the file you download will be the new version.
It rocks!
Tobor said:Awesome! Isn't the Google Mobile app developed by the developer of Quicksilver?
EDIT: Yes he is! I spoke "quicksilver creator google" and it popped up immediately. This will be amazingly useful for endangering myself while driving. :lol

Not sure what you mean? Share your entire contacts list or Sync? Or just give someone your personal contact details? Apple hasn't allowed developers to access the bluetooth for anything but headphone sets. If you are looking to exchange contacts with another iphone user there are a one or two apps in the store that do that for you (through WiFi I believe, not bluetooth)bionic77 said:Is there a way to share your contacts via bluetooth or email?
Pimpwerx said:I'm looking for a good Macbook sale for Black Friday. In the event it happens, I was wondering what I should look for in a laptop configuration that would maximize the usefulness of my iPhone. It's actually the phone that convinced me to get the laptop. It'll be a pretty barebones config, but will I see any added functionality from getting bluetooth support? My main concerns are still getting the calendar to sink easily with the OS. iCal should make that seamless. PEACE.
