Same questions really.ElyrionX said:Just got my iPhone. Two quick questions:
1. The bar at the button of the Home screen, am I able to switch the shortcuts there with something else from the main page (ie. taking out Email and replacing it with Messages)?
2. How do I re-arrange the icons in my home screens?

there appears to be a blemish on my phone screen. there is a moire effect 2/3 the way up from the bottom of the screen. From what I'm gathering online, it's caused by the several layers of the screen contacting each other? anyone have any experience with this and also, is this grounds for an exchange?
Have you tried talking to Apple?moowear said:just quoting from the last page in case some people with insight on the issue missed it. Anyone?
Have you tried talking to Apple?
Take it in. If it's noticeable it is a valid reason for an exchange.moowear said:Not yet. Considering the wide/knowledgable userbase here, I thought I'd try to get a similar 'real world' scenario before I tried calling them. Thanks though. Bought it via an att store so I may have to bring it back?

Where does the app store...store the apps? What's the folder location? I don't have iTunes set to sync apps.VanMardigan said:Delete it from iTunes, not just the phone. It should still be listed in the applications page of iTunes. Or track down the folder and make sure you delete it. Then re-download it from iTunes.
In Itunes you can right-click on app and select Show in Finder (or Show in Explorer on Windows I think)DaCocoBrova said:Where does the app store...store the apps? What's the folder location? I don't have iTunes set to sync apps.

I think ive found the perfect amount of what i want, where i want it. 1 social networking, messaging, phone essentials, 2 games, 3 widely used utilities. The last two pages are random apps that have not proven themselves worthy.
Because you haven't made an awesome one yet? :lol I agree that my theme sucks. I'm a noob though and haven't figured out how to customize it to look how I want. Frankly, I'm too obsessed with app tinkering to spend much time on the looks of the thing anyway.Gary Whitta said:Why is every single jailbroken theme I've ever seen always such a fucking eyesore? :lol
Marty Chinn said:Anyone think that in the next major revision of the OS, Apple will have to address app organization? I'm hoping they do. It sorta is a pain to have to move all the icons one by one in case you're full and want to insert like a new screens worth of icons. Either add some sort of grouping method where you can assign it a category and it will at least keep them together or a way to insert a blank page would seem simple enough to do.

Sean said:Yeah it is a real pain to keep your home screens organized with the way it's set up right now. I would like to see folders or stacks of some sort in order to better organize apps.
Or at least add this into the new iTunes (I think someone on gaf made this vid): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wfv0OJ1oMQ

As a veteran iPhone user I found myself thinking 'preach it!'
I don't think it's a secret that I have grown increasingly frustrated with the iPhone user experience and am looking to switch.
It's a bummer how such a revolutionary mobile platform got so stale and upsetting to use so quickly.
His article does target the "business" side of things, but really that is just another term for power user.

SMS are saved when you backup your iPhone with iTunes. The texts themselves are not easily accessible on a computer though. The iPhone stores the texts on the 16GB or 32GB storage of the 3GS; I don't know how many that translates into but I haven't had to delete a text in 10 months and I'm sure you'll hear a similar observation from people who bought the iPhone 2G on day one...jts said:The day I'm getting a 3GS is getting close, and I have a couple of questions guys...
Is it possible to sync iPhone's SMS and MMS's with Windows/Mac? I like to save all my texting history.
How many messages can the device keep in itself?
Matte Nano, I think, and do you mean switch icons in a theme or make your own team or what exactly?samven582 said:what theme is that?
also can someone show me how to install custom icons?
Pick the 'No Undocked Icon Labels' and 'No Docked Icon Labels' in Winterboard. They should be there by default.Sebulon3k said:Does anyone know a way to remove the app names from under the icons?
