If you did all the steps online and it didn't show up, I would think youre fine, but you can always call AT&T and ask.BenjaminBirdie said:Yes. I'm wondering if anyone had to pay a/the deposit and when it showed up.
The web browsing on the sidekick was practically useless. Beyond that, any "gushing" going on in here is not due to a belief that mobile internet began with Apple. We're not idiots and most of us are not new to smartphones.Bboy AJ said:

Web browsing on it wasn't useless. It's better now, obviously, but it was far from useless. Anyway, I'm also not stating that anyone here is saying mobile internet began with Apple.Tobor said:The web browsing on the sidekick was practically useless. Bboy AJ said:It's so weird to see people talking about Internet everywhere like it hasn't existed. I think I've had mobile Internet in some fashion for a decade. The iPhone does do it the best. However, there still isn't an IM system like my OG Sidekick had back in the day. So well integrated.
Anyway, it's true, though, I can't imagine being without Internet at my fingertips anywhere I go. But to see you guys gush about it is hilarious. Welcome to the 21st century, I guess :lol

They will unlock it for you, in my experiences with TMo. Most carriers will for phones out of contract. I think the iPhone is a big exception to this.mrkgoo said:Question about the US cellphone subsidised/locked phone deal (not iPhone, just in general).
What happens to a locked phone after your contract ends, and you don't want to continue service? Does it become a useless brick? Or are the carrier's obliged to unlock it for you?
I thought that you're supposed to be able to unlock it after the first year. For every other phone but the iphone you can call your provider to request an unlock code to use your phone overseas (for instance).mrkgoo said:Question about the US cellphone subsidised/locked phone deal (not iPhone, just in general).

Bboy AJ said:mrkgoo: I couldn't find the Great Wall restaurant in Washington, DC using my iPhone. So there. Seriously though, I wondered where that restaurant was. Google Maps gave me the right address, according to a quick internet search of the address. I called up the place using its listed number but it was disconnected. I wonder if it went out of business. Oh well. Totally OT![]()

For the iPhone you can just jailbreak and unlock it.

It's rubber on the inside and hard plastic on the back, so it doesn't feel cheap and silicon like but if you drop it it will bounce and absorb shock. Also looks cool, imo. The new colors are not as bright, so my next case will be a black/black candy shell.
Chorazin said:I had that red and white one, let dirt in under the case and the bottom-front lip tore after about two months of use. The Switcheasy Capsule Rebel is such a better case by leaps and bounds.

Well, I mean, there's no list in the OP or anything...

BenjaminBirdie - you shouldn't really ask for Must-haves, as this happens every page, but I suggest reading through the App recommendation (one for gaming, and two for off topic) threads that are a good place to start.

Related to this, there was a survey released today that shows the iPhone 3GS has a 99% satisfaction rate: http://www.appleinsider.com/article...one_3gs_has_99_percent_satisfaction_rate.html.
