Is there a Jailbreak out for 3.1? I hadn't been keeping track of the latest firmware...

Do you guys recommend apple care, I don't know if I should get it. $70 seems a little steep.
Yep, this is how it works.julls said:you should be able to select multiple songs, get info (ctrl i), then drag a jpg into the 'artwork' field of the dialog box that pops up, instead of doing them one by one.
set the track number correctly in itunes. also make sure all the tracks have the same disc number.VanMardigan said:So, in the iPod, how do you play the album in it's original sequence? I went through artist and album, but the order is messed up in both, even though al the tracks are there and named correctly.
VanMardigan said:That is my current alarm for waking up in the morning. Perfect! :lol
this doesn't matter on the iphone. iphone will respect disc numbers without a problem. itunes usually will also, though the current version (9.0) broke it when sorting by "album by artist" or "album by year". But if you still sort just by album then it will work also. heopfully they fix that in the next point release.scorcho said:set the track number correctly in itunes. also make sure all the tracks have the same disc number.

gotta pipe up here. without those "stupid phony restrictions" piracy would probably be a million times more rampant than it even is now (aka still really rampant). the thought some of you have that these files should be easily transportable and copyable with practically no effort is really quite silly. I'm against draconian DRM standards as much as the next guy, but some of you guys are acting annoyed because you can't copy these files to anywhere and everywhere you want with no issue whatsoever. If you could actually do that with the ease you're looking for, what chance would any of these artists have in making money. :\VanMardigan said:since my iPhone is riddled with these stupid phony restrictions.
I am okay will not being able to copy music from my iPhone, but not being able to listen to the songs on the iPhone using iTunes doesn't foster piracy and is a "stupid phony restriction".timmy01 said:gotta pipe up here. without those "stupid phony restrictions" piracy would probably be a million times more rampant than it even is now (aka still really rampant). the thought some of you have that these files should be easily transportable and copyable with practically no effort is really quite silly. 1) What is the likelihood that Verizon or other providers will be carrying iPhone soon?
2) Are there alternative data plans to 3G which have better coverage? (we will be traveling and notice that their 3G coverage is mostly in urban areas only)
enzom21 said:1) Not likely and definitely not soon.
2) No alternative data plans.
1. It's likely. I don't think AT&T has said they renewed their iPhone contract with AT&T (it expires in 2010). Plus Verizon is transferring to a 4G (LTE) network, so Apple could just bring the iPhone to Verizon without having to any major reworking.Xdrive05 said:So my wife and I are wanting to finally make the iPhone jump when our current Verizon contracts expire in November. Magnus said:So...is the 3G (8gb)'s battery life supposed to be abysmal when browsing/messaging/using apps? I even dipped the brightness to a little lower than 50% and I burned through half the battery in like just under an hour.
Damn. Thanks.MiloFoxburr said:Not yet.
mrkgoo said:Hmm, browsing and wifi are drains, for sure, but it shouldn't be one hour.
Apps drain a lot, more or less depending on the app. 2 hours on solid gaming can be very typical.
Word Ace is a huge drainer.

One other question:
If we get iPhones (and 3G) then does the 3G data plan only apply to the iPhones themselves or can the data plan be linked to other 3G-capable devices, like netbooks?
From what I read, it probably involve an app (process) running in background > using power > heat and not terminating correctly. You need app that shows what process is running and be able to close them one by one to see which one is causing the problem.Magnus said:My screen is heating up like a bitch, and somehow, it appears as if the battery is dropping faster than it's charging. I mean, it was at like 30-40% (green), I started charging, and 10 minutes later, got the 20% warning.
How can this be? lol
Can one app be such a drain?
Why are you bringing Windows onto the iPhone?knitoe said:From what I read, it probably involve an app (process) running in background > using power > heat and not terminating correctly. It's not simple as just rebooting the phone. There seems to be many people having battery issue. You can search Apple Support forum.Liu Kang Baking A Pie said:Why are you bringing Windows onto the iPhone?
Just turn it off and on again.
Dwayne said:Hey
We recently grabbed a cheap second hand 2g off a local trade site, the seller had recently purchased it, updated to 3.0, and the phone had become un-jailbroken and he had no idea how to fix it :>
So that was all good, ran redsn0w and broke it open.
Anyhow, now we have a new problem. The phone will randomly turn off. Turning it back on, it'll work fine, and the maybe turn off again later. Besides that, the battery usually won't charge, it'll come up to a certain percentage around 50%, and then stop.
We tried draining it to zero and recharging it from scratch, and that seemed to work. The battery got up to 100%, and acted normally. But then again today it's started dying randomly again. Any ideas guys? If we need to get a replacement battery, can anyone suggest a model? Sending it back to Apple is expensive, and I don't think they offer that service in New Zealand anyway.
Thanks!

Of course this is just rumour but it's fun to speculate.
I would appreciate multi-tasking. Make it happen Apple
