Same here. And it's not a slam on the iPhone either. Convergence devices are never great at anything aside from the task they are designed. Even if my 8525 (or iPhone) had a 10MP phone with all the fixins, it would still be inadequate because it wasn't the proper shape for a telephone. Even the finest cell phone-sized keyboards aren't GREAT for typing. Sure, they might be great for a cell phone keypad, but they are never really that good.
I can understand that lots of people are happy with the convergence functionality of iPhones and other high end phones, but for me, a person spoiled by round-the-board high end functionality from multiple devices, there's really no one replacement.
It's not modern times at all. If cell phones existed 100 years ago they would be just as popular as they are now. Music players, well, I'm into music. If I didn't have an iPod I would probably be going over bars in my head anyway. My cameras? Well, it's one of my big hobbies, and I like to think that I'm always prepared for those insane "pic or it didn't happen" moments. Society and times don't dictate that I make myself into a Stephensonian gargoyle, my personal interests do.
Also, my pen is certainly not a device confined to this area and I still carry it everywhere with me. People have always kept what's important close to them, at least when they could. Now it is just more convenient.
