It does look like marvel movies are taking a turn for the better.

This is the first movie being made by Marvel in-house. So there's no Sony or Fox to impose themselves on the movies, like in the case of Spider-Man or X-Men.

saw the trailer for this movie in the cinema....looked embarrassing. damn...

Embarrassing? You know what's embarrasing? Everything you have ever done and everything you will ever be.

THIS IS IRON MAN.

It's too bad Stage6 had to close when it did. I would have liked an Iron Man HD trailer that would have been available to download.

I hate that Iron Man song. ITS IRON MAN SONG CUZ...ITS THE IRON MAN COMIC. hyuk hyuk hyuk

I agree. Iron man deserves an awesome theme for what looks to be an awesome movie.

And a song that was written about the character, is an iconic classic and is known to just about everyone isn't "awesome" enough?

Jesus, there's a lot of overly-analytical asswipes out there. It's a damn trailer, there's a damn good chance it won't even be on the soundtrack.

Depends, this song was already in 2 trailers.

This would be a great sound to add to the soundtrack

God, IGN is truly shitty. My volume is off and while I wait for the video to load, I go surf other stuff and by the time I go back to the IGN video page, the page has already moved on to the next video on the list even though I explicitly did not request for another video. The worst part is that the video isn't caught in my cache for some reason and I need to load the entire video AGAIN. WTF. And after I finally load the video and watched it till the end and wanting to click on play to see it again, the goddamn page automatically switches to a fucking advertisement and then moves on to the next video. WTF!!! I didn't even get a chance to click rewind because it moved on immediately.

Long story short. IGN is fucking shitty. Where else can I download the trailer?

Here's a link to the trailer with other info. and other high-res links:

Not a big fan of the trailers, that said it's pretty easy to look past them and see that this might a gem of a movie. I'm looking forward to it.

GODDAMN that trailer was awesome! I got the shivers when Black Sabbath's Iron Man started playing :lol

One of the best (if not the best) movies of 2008?

So Apple Trailers has an exclusive clip up. It's not very long, and it's just expanded from a scene we see a bit of in the last trailer, but you do get to hear Jarvis's voice!

May 2nd, baby. It's coming.

The movie looks like it's shaping up to be surprisingly excellent. I'm actually excited to see how it turns out.

Was very meh about this movie, even with the RDJ news, but its hard to deny the excitement the trailers build. Its not going to be better than The Dark Knight (Christopher Nolan, people) but it looks to be the popcorn flick Transformers should have been: hot chicks, robots, explosions, billionares and no teen drama.

I got 2 free tickets to the Advanced Screening in SF.

I've honestly never read more than 2 Iron Man comics in my life, but I love the direction that they're heading with this, and I might actually get back into comics thanks to all the fantastic comic book adaptations that have been coming out as of late.

I CAN'T wait for this. It's on my top 3 films of 08' right next to the Dark Knight. Robert Downey Jr is perfect as Stark.

When is that?

April 29th.

DOPE.

My wife's friend just asked her if I like comic book movies, because he doesn't, when she said 'yeah he loves them' her friend just gave them to us.

:lol Hookups!

(PS: Go Red Sox)

So we called up Tony (Stark that is - yeah, we're on a first name basis) today and told him that fans are just going nuts having to wait for the release of Iron Man on Friday, May 2nd (and we also snuck in a bit about how it's not fair that international fans get to see the movie as early as April 30th).

His reply? He said he'd contact the studio folks (AKA Paramount) and not a few minutes later he called back (apparently he was flying to London for the premiere there... no, not in a plane!) and said he had arranged a special deal for us in the U.S. of A.

He said the studio will now start showing the movie at 8pm on May 1st around the country, but that you should check your local theaters, because he wasn't sure which theaters would participate in the early screenings.

If your eyes don't widen and a hearty "WOOOO!" doesn't come out of your mouth when Iron man's on the screen and that song starts playing then you have no soul.

Yeah, I know. The summer movie season is upon us.
After the past 3 months of movie hell (10000BC, In the Name of the King for the love of god), I finally have a good movie to go to on movie night.

STAY FOR AFTER THE CREDITS

There are rumors going around that
the Nick Fury cameo
has been cut from the film, and technically it was (for the early screenings). BUT, it is very much in the final cut of the film and it plays after the credits.

Spoilers in it

Finally, someone's found a sure-fire way to make money with a modern Middle East war movie: Just send a Marvel superhero into the fray to kick some insurgent butt. The powerhouse comicbook-inspired actioner "Iron Man" isn't principally about this fantasy, but it won't hurt at least American audiences' enjoyment of this expansively entertaining special effects extravaganza.

Having an actor as supercharged as Robert Downey Jr. at the center of such a tech-oriented enterprise reps a huge plus, and Paramount should reap big B.O. rewards by getting out ahead of the summer tentpole pack with such a classy refitting of an overworked format.

So he is in Iron Man and Tony Stark cameos in Hulk. Awesome
