C'mon. That was an obvious joke wasn't it?
I think her point was probably about his last sentence
And the irony that he had made an offensive post about women just prior to that.
I got what the problem was, it had nothing to do with the conversation ...... Just looked like somebody trying to get someone banned.

I guess it goes to say that certain jokes are seen as jokes by one and not another, but deliberately quoting something that I posted that was not even close to offensive in comparison with Eggman's multitude of posts is just cheap and completely irrelevant.
Or you're just bad at telling them and Eggman is annoying.
It had to do with the conversation. What is your problem.
I'd say GAF could be stricter. More public humiliation of idiots, please. I'm talking avatar changes, name changes, tags, the works.
Better yet, bring back hellbans. I wasn't around for MAF's.

Eggman made the post knowing he would get banned and knowing we would talk about it. It's his goal in life.
EL said "tachy goes to coventry" is a huge load on the DB which is why they don't do it anymore.
Agreed, let's start with Green Scar
This thread would have been locked right away 2 years ago
Or is it bc evilore is on vacation ??people need a meta-gaf thread once in a while to blow off steam, unfortunately.
Or is it bc evilore is on vacation ??![]()
I don't believe he is actively moderating the forum nowEvilore can still ban people. Just look at his own vacation thread.
Sentry you should think long and hard about that thread
You're just making it too easy.Sentry you should think long and hard about that thread

About that thread, I usually only take note when I see ass crack.
Obviously I don't think that a girl who bends over is looking for attention or 'wants me' (as many joked). I wasn't on my computer (mobile) so i didn't elaborate my case in the op enough (like none of the women being strangers to me) but my thread title was admittedly stupid/luring.no pun intended, I want Sentry to think hard about what he's asking
That's always gone on and always will, though. You cant exactly ban someone for their flamboyant fanboyism unless it becomes inflammatory, like derailing a thread (ex: wollan).Depends, lately with all the rampant Sony fanboysim and every thread turning into console and list wars i feel the mods haven't being strict enough. But when you get banned for 1 week for saying the four letter c word, then i think otherwise.
I think u mad. For you to single out one group of fanboys makes you look like one yourself. There's fanboys from every circle on GAF and any other gaming forum.Depends, lately with all the rampant Sony fanboysim and every thread turning into console and list wars i feel the mods haven't being strict enough. Not sure what is happening with the approval process when people like Meeru are getting like 8 ghost accounts and other regular people are waiting upto 5 years to get approved.
I'm still a bit confused as per the jokes thing really. This is how it went down.
"Why do these women keep bending over in front of me?"
"Women are dangerous creatures. They try to manipulate you to make you do things in their favor. Waving their ass infront of you is one of the tricks."
Maybe I'm being obtuse but I can't seriously think that this is not an obviously sarcastic joke comment (of which there are many in GAF). Is this type of joking really not allowed? Fine if it is, but I'm a bit surprised.

People love to believe (no pun) and root for something. It's natural to want to justify your invesment, and in a lot of cases many years dedicated to a specific 'group'. It's almost religous at that point, as you have an incentive to NOT deviate, or else you'll feel like all that time/commitment etc was wasted.Hey i'm an anti-fanboy fanboy, I admit it. I don't give a fuck a about any of the big console makers. I just don't like it when people blindly cheerlead a multibillion dollar faceless corporation that doesn't give a shit about them.
I used to think that GAF was too strict, but over time, and reading lots of threads and posts, I came to understand the necessity of such policies.
Even so, I can tell you that it used to be even stricter than it is these days.
As an American I instinctively bristled at your regional classification here (lol) but this is a very good description of our philosophy of moderation.
That guy was a good poster. SonyGAF hasn't been the same since.I'd say policy has changed ideologically, but strictness has been pretty consistent. For example, I think the tolerance for dark humor has certainly tightened in recent years. Attitudes err on the side of protecting users from offense; if in doubt, take it seriously. Memes are generally quashed. I wonder if Wollan's classic red/blue/yellow/green men photoshop which earned him the tag "This is why I will never be banned" would actually be ban worthy these days, to give an example. Not trying to be obtuse - I honestly don't know. In the past, joking was safer, but junk posts or fanboyism or general stupidity seemed to be smacked down harder and with a broader brush. I definitely think moderation was more capricious a few years ago.
I'd liken the evolution of the moderation style to Lisa Simpson slowly taking over the nuclear power plant from Mr. Burns. I think it's preferable overall.
On the subject of offensive statements in the form of jokes:
"It was a joke!" is not a valid excuse for simply making racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. statements. I am sure it is quite likely that Dr Eggman was joking when he made the post to which Air Zombie Meat and Devolution referred; that does not matter.
I have got banned once in 10 years. That was for posting a link to Lindsay Lohan's nipples. Even though I marked it NSFW, the rule was no nipples even in links. Other than that, as long as you are not a jerk it's easy to stay unbanned.

Is Butter_stick perm'd? He said something about his next ban would be a perm. He seemed cool, what he do? Anyone know?

Just curious if this user got banned for this comment:
