Is GAF too strict?

On the gaming side, the whole hivemind thing has to do with people dogpiling 1 or 2 posters for having differing opinions on their favorite games, it's why some people don't generally go into official topic to discuss that. I sometimes would like to read about negative impression about certain series and it's not possible when people circle jerk and dogpile on that 1 single person.

Sometimes people make new threads to talk about it but even then you have a bunch of fans calling him an "attention whore" and that he should've just posted in OT, which I feel that they want that particular opinion to get buried. "Faux outrage" is one of the things that could be applied in this situation to make the poster look bad, encouraging others to dogpile him and painting him a "troll".

(the above could also go the other way, if it's a game generally disliked by general public)

I'm probably a more... docile person on GAF than I am in real life. :U

Hey, man, when it comes to saying the wrong thing only a mod can ban you from GAF, but anyone can ban you from life. Be careful!

Just imagine how much better everyone's behavior is going to be when we all upload our consciousnesses to the GAF bio-mainframe in 20XX.

I dunno, I'm anti gun control/removal and pretty anti-corporation pro government control but still consider myself a democrat :V

I'm also never going to change those views and will fight anyone to the death about it.

We are exactly the same in this regard, viewpoints and everything.

I can't believe this is considered ban worthy. Maybe he got banned for something else, I dunno.

poly ):

hope it's not a perma

I don't think there's going to be a whole lot of bans left to make. Most of the last few pages is just people arguing with the one's who are already banned. There are a few suspect posts left though.

I'd guess a couple more bans and he'll remove it, after all, he's not Crassus.

I've made that joke twice now and it wasn't funny on the first time, I've got to come up with something new or keep my mouth shut.

Assuming that I still be on GAF around that time(not because of bans but I'd think my life pathetic if I stayed on an internet forum that long) it'll be amazing :D.

I remember really getting into it with a poster here on Gaf back in the day when I just started posting a decent amount. I can't remember what exactly was being discussed, but I'm confident conclusions were jumped to, the worst was assumed of me (as talked about above) and I had to spend pages calmly defending myself. After things settled down I messaged her to make sure she understood exactly where I was coming from.

A large problem with getting in debates/discussions/arguments with people, even in real life, is that far too many treat a discussion like a chess game. They're too busy contemplating what others will say in response, their counter-response to that, and so on and so forth. People need to learn to calm their shit and actually comprehend what another is saying. Take it in for a moment and respond like an adult interested in learning, growing perhaps in some way? Not like you're playing a game with a winner and a loser.

Sorry. Rambling over...

So the question will obviously need to be posited:

What happens when we all have photoreceptors in our eyes and it's as simple as blinking to take a 32MP shot and upload it to the net? Because we're getting there.

What about privacy then? Anyone can just blink and become a "creeper". Do you prevent sale of the biometric eyes, some of whom might need them (the blind, the injured), or do you change other things?

I say this because our lives become less and less private the more time goes on. The more we use the internet, the more people use it, the less private everything is.

We will need to invent some kind of DRM for looking at women.

The mods are just inconsistent. People get banned for the silliest things sometimes, and sometimes some really crazy shit goes unbanned. Maybe its that they don't notice it, or take things too seriously sometimes, idk.

I've seen too many questionable bans on the mods part.

How about you not posit that in this thread?

There will be wearable devices that will blur-out the wearer of said device from that photo. It all raises a number of privacy concerns and might deserve a thread of its own*.

*I wouldn't reference the "creeper" aspects.

Conclusive proof that life is not fair and people are not perfect, film at eleven.

Google's Project Glass will take us there first, but I don't think this is the thread to discuss this in.

I wish the NoFap thread didn't get shut down. There wasn't even any room to defend its validity. I don't do it myself, but was planning to give it a shot after reading a lot of success. Just sounded too much like Evilore saying "nuh-uh".

I assume by the time they have technology for that, they probably will have ways for the tech to detect what you are looking at and prevent certain pics from being taken or maybe some way to disable camera function with them in certain areas or even to detect who is looking at you with said tech and all sorts of stuff to prevent such a thing. Really I don't see us reaching a point with bionic eyes , without lots of regulation and accommodations of privacy between then and now with the tech that comes before. Also I dont think biometric is the applicable word for what you are talking about >_>. But this isn't the place for this discussion,

Do you want to bring the slaughter here?

We become a colony of bionic nudists.

Fuck.. I need this to be done so I can sleep without bish nightmares.

I reused one of the images you posted to edit that PBF comic.
If you go down, we're probably going down together.

If we don't make it out of this, I just want you to know, I love you, man. ;_;

Well, it would have to be a closed system. I don't know if I want to support a closed sytem though. Information should be free and hardware should allow users to do whatever they want with it. Creativity shouldn't be stifled ever.

That is pretty much a discussion for another thread though.

that's another thing i feel very strongly about

I don't understand how this could be "too strict." Bish cutting a swath through a thread is what GAF is all about.
