The Lunch Legend

I think so. (y)

Cool, refreshing, simple, the lowest calorie alcoholic drink you can have unless mixing your booze with water or no mix at all, magically removes panties and the freakin' stuff even glows purple under black lights...

Now as a Texan, I'm obliged to have a love affair with beer - and trust me, I do. But a nice G&T probably can't be beat...

But anyway, let's take this to a vote. :pie_thinking:

Cuba Libre (Rum & Coke)

I love Jager bombs and screaming nazis (Jager + Rumpleminze).

Jager is my shit. The only reason so many people hate it is because they're too weak to handle black licorice.

A properly made old fashioned with a primo whiskey/bourbon/rye is hard to top. When someone sits at my bar and doesn't know what to drink an old fashioned is usually my first suggestion.

I barely drink cocktails, but when i do, is some super gay liquorice mojito or just some simple fruit vodka and gin.

Never tasted a good long island tea but since i love tea, i would probably like it.

you wouldn't like the long island ice tea because you like tea (it's not tea) but because you'd be completely wrecked after a couple of jugs

I don't drink much alcohol but i have an unusually gigantic tolerance for it, it's pretty funny when i have to jug 4-5 drink to have the same effect that my friends have with one...

That's why i usually just smoke ganja instead. (Although i developed a gigantic tolerance for that as well)

Never liked gin and tonic myself.

But what do I know. I just pour my Jack directly into the coke can like an animal.

Thats my glass :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Love that glass!
Well now you can call it with his proper name.

I had no idea that it was used outside of italy\europe.

There is an entire line, from the small shot glass to the gigantic mixing glass for barmans.

It'll still be known as my glass :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Well it's in my UK cupboard, where it came from? Hell that was a few bottles ago, no idea :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I think the missus bought it for christmas on year (with a tiny bottle of whisky.. pffft.)

Actually, no, the answer is a Negroni.
Its perfect for absolutely every occasion. Before a meal, after a meal. In dead summer, in dead winter. At a high class party and a tailgate.

You can cite an Old Fashioned, but it doesn't have near the range a Negroni has.

Peruvian Pisco Sour:
piscosour_promperu.jpg

Pisco (peruvian/chilean type of brandy), lime juice, angostura bitter, sugar (or syrup), eggwhite, salmonella, and lots of ice.
Machu Picchu is nice and all, but it's the pisco sour that stays with you.

Gin & Tonic is still nice though

Also a great drink.

And who the hell is picking a Long Island Iced Tea, show yourself immediately.

Vier's dead right about a good gin and tonic. Hendrick's is my chosen brand, though both Bombay Sapphire or Tanqueray are fine too.

Also Edinburgh gin are good for their flavours. Especially rhubarb and ginger. Also the apple and spice. And strawberry and peppercorn.

Need a decent tonic though. Fever Tree all the way.

...shit, I drink a lot of gin.

Also anything that involves adding coffee and alcohol together. Like, ANYTHING.

Gin and Tonic is an easy bet. It's balanced.

I do love a good whiskey sour or Long Island tea. Moscow Mules are excellent and I'm a sucker for margaritas even though I'm not huge into tequila. Gimlets are up there.

I voted whiskey sour but anything with lemon/lime or sour mix is my jam.

Old Fashioned with Rye instead of Bourbon on a single rock. Avoid getting cherries or crushed ice with it. Added flavor liquors aren't bad but aren't really part of the traditional take on the cocktail though I've had some great versions from places that know what they're doing.

Have you tried Shortcross?

Don't order frozen drinks. Most of them are underpoured because bartenders hate making them. Usually cost more too, a frozen house marg at my bar is $7.50, on the rocks it's $5.

Frozen drinks are only marginally appropriate if you are on a beach...otherwise....nah.

I never know how to order a proper mixed drink at a bar so I basically just drink beer. If I order an Old Fashioned I gotta specify what bourbon I want or just let the bartender go at it?

I'd order 90% of these drinks if I wasn't an idiot and knew how to act like I know what I'm talking about...
