So I was farting around on the Game Awards site and decided to vote for the few genres I give a hoot about. It's free and I've got time to waste.

I noticed I could vote multiple times in any category. This also goes for the Virgin Mobile phone voting.

Is it just me, or can we expect a particular outcome for this? (Read: Someone set up a bot to stuff the ballots in favor of Katamari Damacy )

Yeah, I agree the awards are a joke; but it's fun to stuff the ballot box anyhow.

Half of the categories have nothing I would vote for, and then there's screwball stuff like "Cyber Vixen" for Carmen Electra? Whaaaaaaaaaaaat? She's in that other retarded category I'm not voting for. In fact Carmen Electra is like the silicon / botox injected Dragula for this generation of games. WHAT GAME CAN WE SHOEHORN CARMEN ELECTRA INTO NEXT?! SSX4? MGS4? Halo 3?

Being able to "stuff" boxes in fan votes like this is allowed in basically every type of fan-oriented award. Even like All-star ballots in sports.

In like American Idle, they straight up tell you to keep calling over and over again to cast votes for your favorite artist. Ever wonder how they can have like 24 million viewers and 60 million votes are casts???

Anyhow, this is nothing new.

It's horrible they actually decided to make this thing annual. Last year was a terrible joke, and I don't think this year will be any better. Especially since it should be called the Spike TV PS2 Awards. Somehow I think GTA will win every damn category. God, it's horrible.

Somebody could probably write a script that will automatically cast vote after vote after vote....if they haven't already.

I would like someone to do this and just make sure the deck is stacked in favor of all the least commercial games.

Except movies and music awards shows don't have retarded categories like "Hottest Vixen" and "Most Addictive Game Fueled By Mountain Dew".

I don't know, I can easily see Microsoft claiming Halo 2 as GOTY as part of their insane marketing blitz. I'd love to see GTA win, but something tells me it's not going to happen, for no good reason.
