Is JT's "Suit & Tie" Jay-Z's worse verse of all time?

He's in a whole other world that the average person can't relate too.

It's just different

Well I don't relate to guns or selling crack and shit and all his flows and the vast majority of verses were hotter before . I don't see how someone that has listened to him a lot would disagree. It's not just the content. His flow sucks now..or lack there of.

Jay-Z's version in So Appalled is better than his version on Monster in my opinion. And I don't even know that I'd call it his "best". But I do think his verse in Suit and Tie is horrendous.

I wouldn't call Jay-Z's verse in So Appalled his best, but honestly it's one of his best verses of recent times. It's definitely better than whatever the fuck he spit on Monster.

Suit and tie is pretty awesome. Didn't like it at first, but now I vibe to it big time. Intro is awesome. Jay-z's verse is AWFUL though.

Yeah his verse actually makes the song worse.. its pretty decent till jay opens his mouth. Shoulda got andre or something.

The track is really good, then Jay starts rapping... sigh

but this isn't the worst of all time, he's done MANY MANY worse the last few years

Jay's guest verses on College Dropout (when he was "retired," I think) are definitely his worst.

Content-wise I guess it's cute and clever and all, but his delivery is so slow and weird on this verse (not to mention the guy yelling THE ROC IS IN THE BUILDING at the beginning, which makes me laugh every time). I'm a huge Ye/Jay stan but I've never enjoyed this verse. There's also something really amusing about the toughest boast/threat he could come up with here is mace.

Also, people hating on the Monster verse? Blasphemy, that verse is amazing.

My dude, you can't say this when you're trashin his Never Let You Down bars. Jay straight killed that.

KILLED.THAT.

Jay-Z is a very good rapper but totally inconsistent. Overall he's overrated as an artist. I mean, The Blueprint is considered one of the modern classics... and it has some solid songs, but it has so many bad, lazy lines I don't even know where to start. I like Jay-Z, but he's always hit and miss. Sometimes I think his bad lines are kind of cute though... but only sometimes.

Jay's best are "So ghetto" and the verse on Big L's "The Graveyard" imo

Jay Z... A good rapper? Lol, no.

And that whole video is just so presumptuous.

Just like the "E.T" song with Katy Perry. I kind of enjoyed it, but then Kanye Douche started rapping and it all went sour.

I fully agree that "Suit & Tie" really isn't very good, nor is Jay's verses. However, there is some straight up crazy talk going on in this thread besides.

Heard this today on the radio (Power 106, socal's biggest hip hop station) and they cut the song off at Jay's verse lol. "Get out your seat, Hov--"

Who do you mean? On an unrelated note this Jazz fello is terrible and Kanye is the best thing to ever happen to hip-hop (NOT RAP!!)

If you want to know what real hip-hop is, you should check out this underground Immortal Technique.

Monster is one of his best verses...

holy shit.

jay makes nicki minaj sound like the greatest rapper of all time in that tune, which is no mean feat.

Best guest verse for a rapper who I think blows nuts and randomly killed it

Cappadonna Winter Warz

i would say 50 cent on hate it or love it by the game, which is pretty much the only worthwhile thing he's done since in da club
