It's basically a step up from fast food, but isn't a "real" restaurant.
That's EXACTLY how I've always seen it. And that's fine if that's where you're aiming. Tasty enough, choice of heat/flavour.
Did you click the link? Why would I take it that way when Houston is one of the best food cities in America. We also have restaurants that aren't chains or shit but I'm not snobbish enough to not try a famous chain.
The "snark" comment and the link together made it seem like you were being overly defensive about Houston's food as opposed to responding to comments about Nando's and London. If not, cool. enjoy a new option.
Back to Nando's itself, I wonder how the menu is changed from UK to USA (and other countries). Flavours, menu items, etc.
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of Peri Peri Chips (fries will be the first name change). I find it too salty, and I prefer to get their Nando's Mayo and mix it with one of their sauces for a custom Peri Peri Mayonnaise (also free this way, win-win).
For a day when you don't fancy heat of their fruity alternatives, there's a kid's option when you choose your flavour of marinade called "Peri-Tamer" that is a nice mildly sweet BBQ. It's not printed as one of the flavours over here but I've had it enough times to know they don't question it.
