I prefer my bird stuffed; not roasted.

Im pretty sure he's taking about London, not Houston. You seem to have taken the post to be "Nando's will be the best restaurant in Houston" when he likely means "Nando's isn't high up the scale in London"

Nando's isn't high up the scale in London, but it's very popular. It's basically a step up from fast food, but isn't a "real" restaurant. To compare it to my experiences of the USA, it's probably equivalent to going to an OK diner - like the food's ok, will do unchallenging food for kids and adults can get something that seems slightly better than a burger and fries. Families will go there who don't want to go to an out and out fast food place, you're not going to impress a date, but if you're going to the cinema or something else then it's an ok pairing that won't cost a lot. The place won't be overrun with teenagers but for them it's a decent spot to go to because it feels slightly more grown up, but it's not expensive and doesn't feel as grown up as going to a real restaurant with waiter service.

I have to say, unsophisticated ape that I am, I've been a couple of times in the past year and think it's alright, would go again. Would not put it on a list headed: "You must try"

Did you click the link? Why would I take it that way when Houston is one of the best food cities in America. We also have restaurants that aren't chains or shit but I'm not snobbish enough to not try a famous chain.

That's EXACTLY how I've always seen it. And that's fine if that's where you're aiming. Tasty enough, choice of heat/flavour.

The "snark" comment and the link together made it seem like you were being overly defensive about Houston's food as opposed to responding to comments about Nando's and London. If not, cool. enjoy a new option.

Back to Nando's itself, I wonder how the menu is changed from UK to USA (and other countries). Flavours, menu items, etc.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of Peri Peri Chips (fries will be the first name change). I find it too salty, and I prefer to get their Nando's Mayo and mix it with one of their sauces for a custom Peri Peri Mayonnaise (also free this way, win-win).

For a day when you don't fancy heat of their fruity alternatives, there's a kid's option when you choose your flavour of marinade called "Peri-Tamer" that is a nice mildly sweet BBQ. It's not printed as one of the flavours over here but I've had it enough times to know they don't question it.
