Peyton kinda got screwed by going #1 to the Colts.

If he was on a better team all those years, he would undoubtedly have more rings.

Peyton is the best passer of all time.

Brady is the best quarterback of all time.

I think Elway and Montana certainly deserve consideration but I really do believe that these two are the two best to ever do it. Neither Montana nor Elway were as dominant over such a long period as Brady/Manning.

The 'best QB' argument is flawed.

They all bring different stuff.

Peyton has incredible numbers, better than Brady's, Brady has rings (but he could be 5-0, considering he was winning with a minute left in both Giants losses, or he could be 0-5 with some bad luck in the 3 wins).

Eli isn't even in the conversation, he got hot at the right moment a couple of times...similar to Flacco last year.

The top 5 are:

Marino
Manning
Brady
Montana
Elway/Young

Montana is easily the best qb of all time. Stats, rings, post season, clutch, leadership: everything in one. "Oh he had Jerry rice" - wrong in two Super Bowl wins good luck naming his supporting cast.

Just watch nfl networks top 10 Montana games and it'll be easy to see why.

Best qb is more about stats otherwise we'd be saying Favre deserves more consideration.

Also, Peyton has a better understanding of the game than almost anyone in the NFL, including head coaches and coordinators.

Yeah and that means jack shit. Eli has 2 SB rings, and Payton has 1. Stats don't mean shit if you don't win the super bowl.

Eli's Giants teams were considerably better than Peyton 's Colts.

Are you seriously trying to argue that Eli is better?

You're fucking delusional. Lmao.

This I agree with.

The way Manning runs an offense is nothing short of amazing. I'm fully convinced that he could do it blindfolded.

Now you give him the rules today and it's no contest, nobody would be touching Marino and he'd probably have every category a QB could throw for.

you could say that for elway or favre or young or anyone that played in that era

favre threw for 4200 yards and 33 touchdowns when he was in his 40s with todays rules

I think Brady is just as smart. They both run the no huddle like goddam masters.

I think Peyton has more of an ability to explode throwing the ball and score a ton of quick points but I think Brady keeps a better cool.

They're both awesome.

Losing Super Bowls is considered dominant?

Well, I guess Elway would fall in line with Brady and Manning there.

I don't know if you know this, but football is a team sport. Peyton Manning is better than Eli by a wide margin, but he was never given the benefit of being drafted into a well-run franchise like the Giants.

Joe Montana is the best QB of all time. Of course he had the greatest receiver of all time and arguably the greatest football player of all time in Jerry Rice.

Peyton Manning has four MVP's....and will probably earn another at the end of this season.

It would be one thing if Peyton hadn't won a SB, but he has.....and he has also been in two....

If you are seriously trying to argue that Eli is better or has had a better career than Peyton's you're completely delusional. While the amount of SB wins usually is declared the superior, it is rather strange in this scenario.

I love me some Brady, but Peyton Manning IS probably number 2. He's a genius. I hope he becomes a coach after he retires from playing

No question. Brady had better teammates and that's why he's won more titles. There's more to being the best than winning titles.

Believe it or not, Young had Rice longer than Montana did (and did a lot less). Also, Montana was considered to be one of the best QB's in the league long before Rice was drafted.

He won 2 SBs without Rice. Hell in that first SB he had 1 solid WR and the rest were average at best, with replacement level players for running backs.

Superbowls are a team stat.

Which is why it's a flawed argument when using it in QB discussions. It should certainly be part of the discussion but it's no where near the most important consideration.

I mean shit the Giants those two years had the best/most hot pass rushing trio in the league in an era when the only real way to defend is to get to the passer.

It's Montana or Marino. I'm kind of weirded out by how many people said Brady..is that a meme or joke?

Oh please, the colts were a SB favorite many years in a row. You all act like the colts were some down and out team for most of Payton's stay.
