I've never seen anyone with the ability to command a crowd as well as The Rock could. As a little kid I didn't think anything of it but now as an adult, watching some of his old promos on YouTube, I find it even more impressive. He was so assertive yet at the same time he was never corny. There was a level of excitement in the arenas every time he spoke. This guy was a master in front of the mic with supreme confidence and swagger. His showmanship was second to none. He made The People's Elbow (a basic elbow drop with a ridiculous 20 second setup) into the most electrifying move in sports entertainment. I mean crowds would go crazy when this man took off his elbow pad.

Don't know about all of entertainment, but speaking just wrestling, he's certainly up there.

Dude has managed to become the highest paid actor in Hollywood and he's done so based almost entirely on his natural charisma and screen presence. He's achieved an unprecedented level of mainstream success for a wrestler (and yes that includes Hogan). That says a lot.

Most celebrities aren't given a team of writers and a mic weekly to be charismatic so you're bringing a gun to a knife fight.

A guy like Obama is WAY more charismatic compared to, say, Tom Cruise, but that has to do with opportunity to speak as well.

Also, I hear this guy Jesus was pretty popular for his speeches. Hitler too. Just saying since your timeline is all time.

He definitely turned out to be a better actor but that doesn't say much.
