Nintendo usually doesn't continue supporting their old system once the new one is out, unless it already had games for it announced before the new system was out.

I think 3rd parties will continue to support it, but Nintendo is mostly done with 1st party software.

This is exactly the sort of thing I was wanting to know.

And hey, Nintendo giving us one last big title ten years after the Switch 1 was first seen, that works for me, wouldn't me mad with a platform being retired after a full decade, but I'm glad it's not ending now.
