I've had a lot of inexplicable drops lately, which has seen my rank plummet. For the PS2 version, you can create as many characters as you please. Sadly, on the Xbox, I'm restricted to my Xbox Live account. WTF? Tell me this isn't so, because it means I might as well not f****** play this game online anymore. Why would anyone want to play me? Please, anyone, tell me there's a way I can change my username.

Lastly, does NBA Live have a ranking system? 2K's ranking system is an unnecessary joke, a superflous addition that's there solely so some kiddies can feel good about themselves. Why can't we just PLAY others online and have a record? Why reduce the competition to a ranking system that kills any incentive to play those beneath your rank?

That's the whole point behind a universal gamertag. You are stuck with one username, and your actions are tied to it.

If you want to cancel your live account, and start a new one, that'd be your only answer.

And you don't see how flawed that is? The PS2 version allows the freedom to create new accounts. Basically, I'm fucked, unless I want to register a new Live account. Does this mean I have to pay all over again??? I can't roll this account over to the next? Geez..I hate Xbox Live so much. From Halo 2's pathetic matchmaking servince to THIS..I mean...Maybe I should be blaming Visual Concepts for their dumb ass ranking system that completely REMOVES an incentive to play the game. Not really, no.

I see a system that will make you responsible for your actions. Your disconnects were accidental, but there are plenty of people who do that nonsense to get ahead, and they ruin the game for others.

On PS2, they can create a new name as soon as they've hosed the old one and continue making people's gaming experience miserable. On Xbox, at least I can identify people I don't want to play ahead of time.

I'll be damned if I can understand worrying about rankings, anyways. If they'd just trash the open ladders on sports games, there would instantly be a huge reduction in cheesing.
