The only band I ever heard Morellos influence in was the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, specifically with their album Show Your Bones. The first four or five tracks had some heavy Morello esque riffs (not necessarily solos).

I love Tom's creativity. Back when I was reading Guitar magazine, he said when he was coming up everyone was try to be the next Eddie Van Halen so he decided to the other fork in the road.

My favorite guitarist for the past decade is Omar Rodriguez Lopez from Mars Volta. He's god an unorthodox composition (king of chromatic solos) and technique that reminds me of Jimmy Hendrix sometimes. Live performance that is more akin to that.

That’s a cool song, thanks for sharing. Guitar solo’s rarely do anything for me, aside from being technically impressive.

There are exceptions. I typically like simple solo’s that follow the vocal melody of the song. Something like you’ll find in a little pop/folk song like “Somebody that I used to know”(not the Gotye song, lol) or “First Timer” by Elliott Smith.
