Isn’t it amazing how Game of Thrones completely undid its cultural relevance?

Breaking bad ended up winning in the end.
I felt the final season of BB was forced and not as great as everything prior. Then I read they didn't really have plans for the "final season" and made it because fans wanted more. But I also binged it and was not on the live hype train at the time, so maybe I perceived it differently in that manner.

We just rewatched the show with my wife. It's really an amazing show for us but the final season (especially the 3 last episodes) are a joke.
I mean the last episode, it looks like a comedy, I laugh so hard (I mean true laughing it's not a figure of speech).
Actually in the last season, there are several scene that burst us uncontrollable laugh... It's really a pity what they did with the final

Have any of the actors gotten a career after GoT?

Wasn’t it Missandei’s death that ultimately pushed her over the edge? It made no sense as Missandei was nothing more than a commoner, really, and added little worth to Dany’s conquest. Dany was more enraged about Missandei than losing one of her dragons.
She's lost more important people and hasn't had anywhere near such a crazy reaction. It still doesn't match up though. Dead handmaiden =/= 5000000 dead kids

It's pretty surprising yes. Up until the final season I couldn't go anywhere on the internet without hearing about Game of Thrones. I really don't hear about it too much anymore.

I even watched the first season just to see what it was all about. It literally made stars out of people like Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner.

It hasn't lived on like shows like Breaking Bad, The Wire, Sopranos etc. I hear them get brought up all the time still.

That’s the point I was trying to make. She lost her shit over a goddamn translator dying, but losing Jorah and Barristan hardly seemed to bother her to the same extent. And after fighting so hard to secure her reputation as a just queen, she burns millions of innocent King’s Landing citizens to death. It just made zero sense to have her go psycho in the space of an hour. It shouldn’t be been spread over a couple of seasons.

they weren’t exactly the best people to work for as they treated Emilia Clarke poorly in Season 1 and Jason Momoa had to step in to help her out, and in response HBO hired employees specifically to make sure directors weren’t mistreating their cast and crew.
???
Source for this?

Yeah. The sopranos just wiped out whatever relevance they had lingering too. Breaking bad ended up winning in the end.
Breaking Bad had to do their spinoff show and movie too. All these series would be stronger if they just let it be.

It was just all round terrible the way the show fell off. Intriguing characters like Tyrion and Varys becoming utterly useless decor. Introduction of the stupid pirate fellow (forget his name) who was never a believable menace anyway. Even the end of Littlefinger, which could have been a real cool moment of comeuppance was totally botched. The constant hinting at powerful magic and deities and prophecies which all seemed to have some merit, until suddenly they all didn't matter anymore. It all just feels like writing an increasingly convoluted plot without any idea of how to successfully resolve all the strands (aka the x-files / lost syndrome)

I spent the whole 8 years telling my wife the Night King would be defeated by the lame sci-fi trope of kill the queen bee, the workers die.

and sure enough, lamesville, that's exactly what we got. The Night King battling his way to King's Landing should have been an entire season.

Humanity's last stand against the darkness. Lannister. Baratheon, Stark uniting to defeat a dreadful foe.

Instead defeated by a parlour trick by Arya in a single episode.

Hopefully JMS will take note for his new alternative Shadows ending (if there are Shadows) for Babylon 5 remake.

I've heard the Night King isn't even in the books. I liked him, but he shouldn't have been the only "real" white walker made by the children of the forest. The last shot of the show should have been of a white walker that was still out there.

He's mentioned but hasn't shown up so it's unknown if he's just a tale. Was a commandder of the Nights watch and hooked up with white walker queen and left.
