Israel destroys Palestinian classrooms ahead of first day of school

I think watching Wonder Woman is a good exercise in solidarity with the Palestinians. Afterward you'll know how it feels to be tortured by an Israeli for three hours.

Shamelessly stolen from some podcast I can't remember.

DAMN.

This map is a few years old, but so you can understand how the West Bank is occupied exactly, this is roughly how:

In-between are Israeli settlements, checkpoints, and military roads. Etc. etc.

I'm generally sympathetic to Israel, but the West Bank is already completely ungovernable as it is, nor has Israel ever made an offer to give that land full independence.

If only the Arab representatives had agreed to the partition of the British Mandate of Palestine in 1947.

There are two workable states here (granted, in an economic union) and an international zone that had (and still has) a small Arab Christian population too (i.e. Bethlehem).

The Jewish representatives actually agreed to this in 1948...the Arab representatives did not.

But after 70 years of conflict, I don't see there being any solution in our lifetime.

Obviously when people say "Fuck Israel" they aren't hating on every single Israeli citizen or Jewish person, but the people complaining about it need to also realise that Israeli governments have been doing this shit against Palestine for decades - and governments who do this stuff keep getting voted in. At the end of the day its perfectly legitimate to criticise a country that has a long track record of doing horrendous things.

Equally, I'm perfectly fine with the same insults being levied at the US or the UK (I'm from there), whenever anyone wants to criticise their (objectively awful) foreign policy

What does cross a line is when you make it personal - i.e. a person introduces themselves as Israeli/American/British/whatever and you immediately respond with "fuck Israel/USA/etc",(or message them anti semitic stuff over PSN - that's really disgusting and i hope they get banned from GAF)

Whatever it takes to get a few more firecrackers to fly over the wall so they can continue the slow genocide.

The thing is they want to go back to that, but Israel will not budge on the borders from the 60s. This is taking into account 13-20 years of War and Conquest. It's disgusting.

Israel was such a fucking mistake. Way to burn all that good will from empathy the world gave you as a result of the Holocaust. Funny to see the victims grow up only to become just like their oppressors.

The partition plan was a shitty deal for the Arabs so it makes sense they'd reject it. The Jewish leadership accepted it only as a first step toward taking the rest of the mandate land.

With the exception of the Sinai to Egypt in exchange for lasting peace, and IIRC part of the Golan Heights as a buffer.

While it was a bad deal for the Arabs, almost to the day they rejected it Palestine as they understood it was already dead.

The Jewish leadership may have had what you said in mind, but with an international agreement and a UN zone, it might still have been "it's nice to want things" for them, compared to the free reign they had to take more land later after wars with neighbours. It's all what ifs.

There was no solution that was going to make everyone happy in Mandatory Palestine.

Seriously, it's like the israeli gov and unconditional supporters remember what the Nazis did with some nostalgic fondness. "Ya know, that wasn't a bad idea in theory... just misdirected. Yeah."

You want to compare them with the worst of colonial occupiers or apartheid fine, but fuck off with the Nazi comparisons. Or just educate yourself more on the holocaust and then come back and tell me it's the same.

Israel was built up on blood. The Dalet plan in 1948 made it clear. Its not the problem of the current gov, it has been always like this.

Mind you, what you are referring to as borders from the 60ies (presumably 1967?) Are not borders but rather they are armistice lines.

It was not a school but a HAMAS weapon factory and in the basement they were actually making bombs. The bomb blew the building and now the anti semite UN is going to use that to criticize Israel as always, because they hate democracy and jews.

Also, those kids were no kids, they were actual HAMAS militants using Arya Stark's masks.

Abused children grow up to abuse other people.

Neo-Nazis at its finest. Killing people starting Monday and defending their "land" by Friday.

Please tell me how destroying Palestinian schools on bullshit claims of "built without a permit" is ANY different from Kristallnacht

Go on, I'll wait.

Israel does not equal Judaism. As a jewish person, this is seriously offensive. Go fuck yourself.

I'd edit that if I were you.

This kind of inability to make a simple distinction like this is what causes the hate of the world to keep on spinning. The people that suffered and died in the holocaust have nothing to do with the current state of Israel and its leaders.

That's straight up racism as far as I can tell. Last I checked that's the bannable offense here. If the mods disagree, so be it.

100 % with you on that, it's just a braindead comparison and it's actually an insult to all the people who died because of nazism.
It's not because Israel use this memory that they own it. Take for instance the Bund party who lead the resistance in the ghetto of Warsaw, they were antizionist and socialist.
