Aiyeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

I've also been listening to the track posted from the new John Vanderslice album, Pixel Revolt that was posted on his website recently. It's easily among one of my most anticipated releases this year, and the track hasn't let me down yet. Hurry up, August, I want my JV!

Ill Saint: Have you heard Sphere the new Merzbow rls on Tzadik? It sounds exciting. Is Merzbuddah pretty fab?

nitewulf: I've never listened to DFA1979. I've never found legal Hot Snakes d/ls for people, though they had a track from Audit in Progress up on their site for a while. As far as Pinback, you can get "B" from the Offcell EP (my 2nd favorite Pinback song behind "AFK") here. There's a few more songs on Epitonic, too. Fuck middle of the week, go to the show.

Have not heard Sphere yet, but will surely get around to it. I love Merzbuddha... it's so meditative and calming (!). Waves and waves of sub-bass hynotically churning beneath the digital noise barrage. Very cool.

Well holy shit, that sounds pretty fun. I'll have to try to hunt that down. And Sphere as well. My record store just got a copy of Flight of the Behemoth by Sunn-O))) in, so that's mine first.

I'm currently listening to Picaresque by The Decemberists, and holy crap, it rocks. Did I miss the GAF hype train for this group in my idiocy, or has this been a stealth release? Are any of their earlier albums any good, and if so, which one should I get next?

Also, can you good folks tell me more about Spoon and Architecture in Helsinki? I haven't heard any of their music, but they are much-discussed these days. What does the music sound like?

Get The Tain next, then everything else, it's all REALLY REALLY GOOD. The Tain is a 18 minute concept EP that's a throwback to Iron Butterfly and the like. Both of their other LPs are fabulous, and the Five Songs EP is very good, too. The Tain is about the best thing ever, though. They really haven't done anything bad at all, one of the most solid bands of the last handful of years, they're as good as everyone says. See them live if you get a chance, too.

I don't know about Spoon, but Architecture in Helsinki's new one was pretty fun. I only listened a couple times but it was entertaining. Really dense, weird pop music. Reminded me of Olivia Tremor Control and Jennifer Gentle a lot, but I could just be on drugs. It's darn good.

I may have to check that out based on your word. I guess that Racebannon is releasing a remix album this year (along with a reissue of their first LP, a comp of their EPs & Singles, and a new album, 2005 = Year of Racebannon!) with a Merzbow remix on it. I've never been this excited for a remix ever.

Gorillaz - Demon Days
Blueprint - 1988
Massive Attack - Danny the Dog OST
The Herbaliser - Take London
Fischerspooner - Odyssey

Gorillaz: I'm liking this one more than the automator creation, though I do miss Del.
Blueprint: Another I'm liking more than I thought I would. I hope he gets back for another soul position album too. Massive: Its massive attack, some good stuff. Herbaliser: Pretty much like Something Wicked. Fischerspooer: I like this better then the first.

architecture in helsinki rox. get it, listen to it, love it.
ok, to be fair, i guess they'd be considered avant garde. i found them more accessible than, say, fiery furnaces.

Rhino's remastered reissue is fantastic. Stop whatever you are currently doing and buy this right now.

I bought it last Summer when it came out and listened to it all of twice. Since I'm seeing them on Saturday, I figured it might not be a bad idea to become more familiar with the newest album.

A FRAMES! Such an underrated/underappreciated band. I saw them live a few years back and it was a blast. Scuzzy, noisy punk rawk, they kicked my fucking face in. New album is really good, both previous albums were fabulous as well. I want to see them live again so so so bad. :(

01. Atrocity Exhibition
02. Transmission
03. Novelty

This version of Atrocity Exhibition is soooooooooo much better than the album version. The bass is thumping and Ian just goes fucking nuts at the end. :D:D:D

Just kidding, great debut album no matter what some people might say, Eating Glass is a killer opening track. I'm seeing them on Saturday at Sasquatch, very excited to get my Banquet UK 7" autographed as well...

Team Sleep's album is cool.

I like "Ever," "Your Skull is Red" and "Elizabeth". Well, Elizabeth is pretty cool until they try to be Linkin Park halfway through. WTF guys, don't degrade yourselves.

This disappointing album. Giving it a few more listens, but it's rather stale and derivative. Hopefully, I find something here, because the album seems rather shallow at the moment.

Eww. I hope you didn't BUY that.

I listened to Superunknown today and felt really bad. That's all over. :(

Audioslave is such a depressing band. I remember my friend who worshipped Rage and claimed that even though they're signed to Sony, they're just doing it to get their message out there. And that's why Tom Morello 'n friends are currently making some of the most derivative, MOR bullshit ever.
