Your thread is silly on multiple counts as I already specified. As to your opinion, its framed as absolute i.e. fact ("its mandatory")
As stated before, its moot at this point as specs are probably final or close to final, contracts are signed, etc. Nintendo has hanging out with some of the worse specs, generally speaking since the N64. Microsoft generally doesn't give two shits about selling plastic.

Just my two bits having gamed and grown up through that era, and having tried each system, including Intellivision -- ColecoVision FTW especially with gameplay, Atari adapter, and so many controllers to play everything, even before the Adam came around.
Coleco influenced the MSX, NES, and the SG-1000/SMS and the 7800. It's the console where video games really started getting things down which is why it still has such a big fan base while the Intellivision is fading away outside some original titles.
Now if only they released that horizontal controller instead of cancelling it.

(NOTE: This is JUST my personal views/thoughts, not saying it speaks for anyone else.)
XBox: Extremely fucking KILLING IT with Game Pass Ultimate -- used to buy several games a year, now I barely have to buy much except outliers. (Before knocking it and goalpost shifting, remember argument of "price".)
As for game selection supposedly lacking, maybe I jumped during a time of perfect star alignment, but I'm constantly torn on which of my dozens of back-logged games to play, and I've owned Xbox a hair over a year.
Sony/PS: Was loyal to them all along, but lately feels like they've been subtly/not-subtly edging sides in politics/media/culture. Now, THIS IS JUST ME, a lot of their first party games recently seemed/felt similar, but I've been noticing more how they seem like vehicles meant to deliver the shoehorned current SJW message-in-a-bottle -- I mean Detroit, *SERIOUSLY*, I've 10/10 loved every other QD games, and even though I hate to say I'm triggered, yeah, Detroit == TRIGGERED. Not to mention some recent brush ups between Sony and censorship.
Then having used GPU and PS Now regularly, PS Now doesn't reach into the same league at all.
Again, just some of my own random thoughts.

I will say that Microsoft has made a habit of throwing money at market share lately. Mind you...they can do that...I'm not knockin em for it. They are experimenting...I'm glad somebody is on this level. They threw money at a bunch of studios...if Hellblade II is any indication, it seems they made a good investment, no denying that. They threw money at streamers, Shroud, Ninja and Ewok...the jury is still out on that one, but I don't think they are trying to steal viewers as much as they are trying to bend the narrative to being Twitch Vs Mixer...even though YouTube and Facebook are both bigger than Mixer in the streaming universe. Funny thing is...it's kinda working. Only question is what's the next step.
Now who's to say they won't eat console cost to remain at $500? I think it's very very likely that this would be the case.

I definitely think they're willing to play the long game and takes the loss on hardware with the most powerful box. They seem to be very aggressive these days. And they arent finished! E3 and the next reveal event are going to be instrumental in their long term goals. I dont think hardware will be their only metric of success (I'm pretty much sure of it at this point...) but the console can serve as a trojan horse in order to get more people into their ecosystem. They'll go big come next gen. I'm sure of it.

My guess is that the difference is going to be less than it was compared to the standard xb1 and ps4. And the differences that are there are going to be unnoticeable to most due to diminishing returns. Good news for most gamers, bad news for teenaged fanboys looking for something to brag about concerning their console of choice.

Correct. The only reason why the Xbox One X has a much more capable GPU is because it targeted a higher price point and was released a year after the PS4 Pro. I'm going to make an assumption that both Sony and Microsoft are targeting a price range of $400-500 and will release within the same time frame. If my assumptions are true, they will be very similar.
