It's the 1st day of Summer!

Days like these...

Have a Blessed Day
It's that time of year again, time to complain about the weather/heat. Today it was 92° in my city with a heat index of 102°. How are you guys doing?
My apologies to those of you of delicate constitution before this thread gets started in earnest.

Give me rain, storms, the wild thunder's roar and anything that keeps the temperature below 20°C

I need to move to Scotland

Not that I would want to move to Scotland but what's wrong with it? Why did u move?
I just didn't enjoy it up there, and the weather is as bad as they say it is. The people are really friendly, and plenty of nice environments to visit, but I couldn't settle in. I wanted to get away from London so bad before I moved up there, but I ended up missing London way more than I thought I would in the end.

More than 3 continuous days of rain and I seriously start wanting to not exist anymore.

Went to glenwood springs resort today. 101 in denver, 93 in glenwood.

Theres floating near me too so that'll be next

Not only is it the longest day, but it's also going to be the hottest at 32 degrees (and for anyone who doesn't think it's that hot, I invite you to take a trip to the UK to experience it). It's my least favourite time of year when it gets too hot to do anything, and at least when it's cold you can put more layers on, but there's only a certain amount you can cool down.

Love it. Went on my first summer run/walk after I lifted. Get that vitamin D. My fat/lazy co-workers hate it. Makes me love the heat even more.

time to put on rest all the hardware that suffer the period here, 40C isn't difficult to reach (and pass) after a couple of hot consecutive days

I'm about as far north as you can get in the UK right now and it feels like winter without the dark nights. Rubbish.

I don't do well when it's hot. Every time I've been abroad, I have always fallen ill. What's worse, I was really poorly in 2022 (not sure if it was covid), and that illness left me with hyperhidrosis, which is bloody awful. I just cannot cope in summer, through no fault of my own. When not at work, I won't leave home.

I didn't know what hyperhidrosis was so I googled it. Apparently it's cause by menopause and or emotions.

I saw an American complaining the other day about that, the sun setting after 9pm and it being light by 4am completely messed them up.

come to the cotswolds. All the best bits, good weather.

I saw my neighbour out walking his dog in jeans and a coat earlier. The mad bastard. First of all the floor is too hot to be walking your dog, their paws burn. Secondly, he must have been sweating like a pig as it was 30+ outside. Guy has lost his mind.

Did you tut tut loudly in his direction?

Wtf are those pools, does everyone shit in it
Haha. Yeah it does look like that. They are mineral springs/pools that people have swimmed at for over a 100 years in this iteration.

The discolored area in part is where the spring water seeps into the pool. Bubbles everywhere

Bout to be 90s these coming days I'm gonna try and get a good sweat going most days of the week for summer just embrace the heat and focus on hydration to replenish the body with nutrients/electrolytes that get lost from sweat. Sweating is good for u just go for walks at a good pace u wont overheat that way too quickly but you wanna sweat a lil bit

Water-rich fruits and vegetables

I need to move to Scotland

Mate I moved to Scotland back in 2021, Im from Essex down south and I have never done well in the heat so when I moved up here cooler summers was on my mind. Friday I was north of Glasgow up in the hills on the edge of the Highlands sweating like a cunt in my truck 30 degrees still outside at 1 point. Its still cooler overall but this is my 4th summer here and I havnt felt too different from when I was down south. We are ment to get abit of thunder today though so hopefully that will freshen the air.

Just started summer and we're already getting a heat advisory. Fuck this, going to go hibernate in a fridge till fall gets here again.

Oh no you don't. Trust me. I moved there in January, I've already moved out. I couldn't last more than 6 months there.

What part of Scotland did you move to ? Just curious as I moved up (as mentioned in my last post) from Essex in 2021 and much prefer it up here. I live in Motherwell just outside Glasgow, I wouldnt want to live in the Glasgow itself and the same goes for Edinburgh.
I love that when im driving about (hgv driver) I can normaly see hills in the distance even if im not driving through them they are there not far away. My wife and I like to go for walks with our dogs so its great we are so close to many great places to walk. I only go down south to see my Dad and to go watch Arsenal a few times of the year, but I dont miss it at all down there.

Just interested as you didnt like it up here and I love it, sometimes places just arnt right for us. I hope you have settled back in down south though and back on track.

I love summer. To me it's a vibe, a mindset - a celebration of beaches, marine life, campgrounds, amusement parks, and steamy afternoon thunderstorms. It's just a season for freedom, traveling, and vacations. The heat and UV index is brutal, so if that mentality doesn't appeal to you and you don't live near the coast or a lake then I can understand how the appeal of summer is limited.

One additional great thing about summer is people are available. In the fall and much of winter, football consumes everything. People are just unavailable on the weekends.

Don't get me wrong I love the summer too but sometimes the sweltering heat along with the humidity get to be a bit much
