They said that they were updating it to a newer version of Unreal a couple of years ago, but don't know if it's still coming.
The game is good as it is really, but better graphics would be cool, but honestly not neccessary for me. They could easily mess up the game too much if it would be a new game. It's so incredibly deep in terms of mechanics.
