I went to my bike after leaving the gym and two adorable little girls and their dad walked past. The girls were impressed by how purple my bike was and said it was very nice. As I rode this 30+ year old, worn and rattling, but very purple, ladies' bike home I felt like this:

I had to break up friendship with the most beautiful person (inside and outside) I have ever known. I couldn't bear the weight of growing more and more in love with her everytime we texted or hung out, not being able to look her in the eye anymore knowing she doesn't feel the same towards me. If we continued as friends I would start developing paranoid jealosy and bitterness about her finding someone else. I feel like a coward and selfish person now. I've never fallen in love with anyone like this and never felt such a soul crushing pain in my life.

Don't. What you did was very honest and requires great effort to go through with. You can't go the rest of your life pretending that you can be just a friend or suppressing your feelings until you fall into a depression.

Just take one day at a time, but don't beat up yourself for making a mature decision. I've sort of been where you are and distance is the only thing that helped.

Also made an doctor's appointment (second opinion with the "main" doctor") for the bursitis in my right shoulder.

There's no improvement.

Depending on how the meeting goes I'll ask for a referral to a specialist.
