Cant wait to see the trailer myself. Harrison Ford in Indy Crystal Skull 14 years ago was already old and creaky. He could barely run and jump and talked slow.

I wonder what he's like in 2022.

Thing is he was only 65 back when he filmed Crystal Skull, which in todays day and age isnt THAT old. 79 though, well i'm not expecting many stunts and fight scenes, which is what Indy is all about.
And not keen on the rumours about de-aging and all that, time travel and shit.
Huge Indy fan but i feel like this film is going to be awful, I mean even Spielberg wanted nothing to do with it, and he agreed to make Crystal Skull!..

Are early impressions on Twitter ever even slightly critical? I am still excited as Mangold is very solid and hopefully they learned from Crystal Skull - one of the most disappointing movies I have ever seen.

Mangold is literally the only person on this planet I’d trust with Indy other than Spielberg.

In fairness these guys gushing are hardcore Disney stans, of course they say the trailer is the most amazing thing since sliced bread.

I read on another gaming forum that the Indiana Jones films were guilty of “orientalism” and that Salah in particular was an offensive stereotype.

I was reading an article that made an off hand comment about Indiana Jones being racist and I couldn't for the life of me figure out what was racist in any of the movies, I guess that's what they're talking about? SMH

Wrong. 3:10 to Yuma and Ford vs Ferrari are great. I was the latter all the time.

I like both more than Logan. Hell, Cop Land, Identity, The Wolverine, and Knight and Day are damn good too.

To some folks ANY TIME a white person goes to a non-white land TO DO ANYTHING, it's racist, but ESPECAILLY if it is to save other people. I'm sure someone out there is calling that Thailand cave rescue film racist for having 4 white dudes save the day and in 100 years when they remake it they will have a woman, a Ferengi, a talking dolphin, and a plant in the roles for the sake of inclusion and folks will still complain because Idris Elba wasn't cast :p

Wonder if the rumors about time travel to undo the other movies will turn out to be true. :goog_unsure:
Ugh, hope not.

I just want a good solid adventure film. Not a 2 hour set up for "IndiANNA Jones and the Quest for Why "Strong Woman" means Men Gotta be Dumb"

Mangold seems like a good bet for a meaningful film, but the virus is strong.

Seeing as how that was started by a literal Neo Nazi who has his own SS uniform he wears in Bitchute videos and obviously doesn't like how his people are portrayed in the Indy movies, probably not.

i think that comes from the temple of doom dinner. The ridiculous stuff the Indians ate. I’m not saying it’s racist but as a kid it did convince me they ate monkey brains for dessert …

What is this movie about? What is the Macguffin?
I'm not sure but the concept art shown at the Disney event had this:

Set photos:
The character played by Toby Jones is holding some golden object. Also Ford has black dots on his face.

Salah always seemed like a good dude even with his betrayal... René Bellocq and Marcus Brody, each in their way are caricatures of 19th and early 20th century orientalists and they aren't depicted very kindly (rightly)
