Doh. Even being the #1 seller for a few days, the dictionary wasn't able to sell millions. I guess electronic dictionaries are not the direction that the game market will move to :lol

DOD 2 was #1 all week, and Brain Training was #2 all week. The dictionary didn't even come close :P

Brain Training, a dictionary and two Nintendogs.

News: Windows XP best-selling game in the US!

Note: I do know that Nintendogs is an actual game, I have it myself.

Note2: Why isn't Chihuahua selling? KC Spaniel FTW!

Slow week. Next week should be much more interesting. Brain Training surprises though, since I think it actually went UP this week.

How anticipated was DOD? I thought it was going to be a ho-hum title, but 125k isn't too bad.
Sales are about 5k more than the first game sold in its opening week. So it's pretty much the same audience.

I am 1 proud owner out of the 7000 copies sold this week! I got it on the first day it came out in fact (6/16).

I also contributed to Otona no DS Training =)

This is the second consecutive week Brain Training has actually increased in sales.

5/16 - 5/22 43,000 (first week out)
5/23 - 5/29 48,000
5/30 - 6/5 30,000
6/6 - 6/12 33,000
6/13 - 6/19 34,000

Now THESE are legs.

2,800 Yen, regular DS games cost about 5,000 Yen.

Actually I just went to Japan, and the game is selling for 2380yen there.

Most Japanese stores give discount on games, like around 10%, so most stores don't sell games at their RRP.

Ok, my bad. I thought I saw a dialy thread where it was #1 and people were proclaiming the dictionary to outsell all the actual games.

Is DoD2 any good?
If you didn't like the first one, I wouldn't recommend it, but they tweaked the gameplay quite a bit - the dragon flight sequences are much better now, and you can control other characters more freely on foot missions. I don't know how the story compares yet, as I haven't played this one much.

Anyone here still think nintendogs will break a million?

Me.

I'd expect all three titles to float around the 10-15 for atleast another 5 Months. Come Christmas time, these doggies will be back in action.

I remember people saying that for Super Mario Sunshine.

Man, PSP is in such dire shape right now. Somehow they need to secure a DQVIII downgraded port for the system. Maybe that'd pull in the system sales they want in Japan :P

Brain Traing doing very well. Will not be surprised if it sits in 5th place, or even 4th place, in another 4-5 weeks.

DS games got some nice legs there. Almost every DS game on that Dengeki chart sold more this week than last week.

I think Nintendo has to thank Brain Training for that. This game seems to be attracting plenty of casual gamers. More people buying the DS = more people are likely to get 1-2 extra games along with their DS purchase.

When I was playing Brain Training, my wife saw me playing it, and immediately she took the DS off me, wanting to play the game herself. That is the first time ever that has happened after knowing her for over 6 years.

I'm sorry, I didn't quote this post.

Wow another slow week. Atleast one game did well. The sales of this week were probably down from last week. Does anyone have the Media Create report?
