Japanese Daily Sales- 23rd Dec 2004 Go Go Nintendo!!

Japanese top 10/20 lists usually have a very even number of titles spread between PS2 and GBA, then with a few GC titles mixed in. Now we also see PSP and DS once in awhile.

But Nintendo's presence as a top seller in Japan has never been 'short lived.'

I cant see whats wrong with Japanese and Mario Party, its like every household owns a copy of one of the Mario party games.

Anywho, Good to see MGS3 still on the charts. The game has to get more than 1 million sales worldwide, so hopefully japn will make up for the lack of sales in America. You guys should all do your job and buy a copy if you havent got one.

I'm broke...feel free to purchase a copy and send it to me.

Broshnat, you sure love Nintendo. ;)

I told you people days ago that Mario Party 6 can't be stopped. And I was right. :lol

Seriously, wtf is going on with Mario Party 6? I know that Japan loves Mario Party, but what's with the game's sales starting out very very low, and INCREASING over time?

I don't understand it either.

It's XMAS. Everyone knows what a mario party game consists of and so people don't rush out straight away to buy it, they wait until the holdays to get it for xmas presents or whatever. This isn't just true of Mario Party, but of Nintendo games in general- it's just more exagerrated for MP than most...

Expect it to be number 1 for the next few days, although Sawaru and Mario 64 are gonna do some good numbers as well this week...

According to the other thread Kessen 3 sold 46,000 that day. Does that mean Mario Party 6 and the two DS games sold 50,000+ each in one DAY?

46,000 is day one sales number for Kessen 3.
This chart is day #2(or something), where Kessen dropped to #10.

Even though both threads say December 23rd? Oh wait, I see Kessen 3 was in the 22nd daily sales thread, nevermind.

The thread with sales numbers was incorrectly labelled the 23rd when it was in fact the 22nd.

Looking at the chart for the 22nd, MP6, Sawaru, Mario 64, DQVIII and MGS3 did somewhere between 36k and 18k in that one day (probably something like 25k for MP6) which will increase over the 23rd and 24th just before Xmas. I'd have thought it would do 90k+ in these three days alone, and probably 130-150k for the week, with Sawaru and Mario 64 not too far behind (should both be over 100k as well).

Should be a very strong week for Nintendo- the DS should do another 250k+ as well, the GC 70-80k, PS2 160k, GBA 120k etc.

This next week is the biggest one of the holiday in terms of seeing a boost, they will drop away a bit the following two weeks, before dropping back to normal numbers from the week starting 5th Jan onwards...
