Playism has announced that the latest entry in the Bringer series, Metal Bringer, will be released this Winter for Steam and PlayStation 5. Developed by Alphawing, this Japanese-styled roguelike action game occurs in a sci-fi world with androids and giant robots in horde-based combat, with actions evolving as you battle.

Metal Bringer has players build and control android soldiers called Labor or have them control the machines called Arms. Labor and Arms are highly customizable, with their color and appearance being changeable, alongside their parts to modify their fighting styles.

Labor can be enhanced with over 150 types of apps, which are obtained by defeating foes, but installed apps are lost if you fall in battle. However, app analysis carries it over to your next Lbaro, enabling better performance each run.

Arms will eventually wear down, yet parts left behind by enemies can be used. Additionally, blueprints of more powerful Arms can be analyzed as you progress, unlocking new customization options.

Takahama Makoto from Alphawing said the following:
Hi, I’m Takahama, the development director of Metal Bringer.

It’s been one year since we announced the game during last year’s PGS, and in order to fully realize our original concepts, we’ve scrapped and rebuilded the game many times to improve it.

At first, you might struggle to survive with your weak Labor and slow Arms, but gradually, you’ll gain more and more power until you eventually become unstoppable, with incredible mobility to match. This game is one where you can experience the thrill and satisfaction of growing stronger.

We’re preparing a new playable demo right now, which will be showcased at PAX and TGS. Please stop by to try it out!

The first and previous entry in the series was Samurai Bringer, though the setting was entirely different.

It's interesting that they chose 8-bit style music for a game that seems to be emulating the graphical stylings of the PS1 gen. I was expecting something like this:

Looks fun though.

Also, just like achievement threads, expect people to come into a roguelite/roguelike thread just to tell you how much they don't like roguelites and roguelikes.
