Goddamn the new Vampillia album is fucking good. The song with Togawa Jun is what drew me to it, but the rest of the album is just as good. Was really pleasantly surprised to hear Tujiko Noriko on two of the songs, and they are really beautiful. BiS is also delightfully weird on this album, farting, burping, spitting and moaning sounds backed up by beautiful strings is what I crave apparently.
Probably the best album I have heard so far this year.

Kyuuso Nekokami are releasing their major debut mini-album on June 18th.
BYEE the ROUND are releasing their second full album on June 4.

As usual, June is one of the most exciting months of the year releases-wise, lots of artists often release new stuff in June.

Handsome Kenya released a PV for his song ランダム, from his album released last month. One of the best albums of the year.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIk19cEWr3k&feature=youtu.be
Gotch also released a new PV, his first solo album will be released in two weeks.

Been listening to THE BACK HORN's new album, released last week. Damn, it's a pretty amazing release, some good old THE BACK HORN with some new "experimentations", I'm loving it. One of their best works so far!

It's kind of interesting that ART-SCHOOL and THE BACK HORN, two bands that've been around for almost 15 years both released on April 9th albums that I consider as good as their "classic" ones. Feels damn good when this happens. I already said it but 2014 has been a fantastic year so far and it's not over yet! Tons of great releases are still coming.

One of their best songs, yeah. Cobalt Blue (コバルトブルー) is also a masterpiece imo : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9NhHZdUe1s

Also listened to cinema staff's new album and I think it's going to be one of my favorite albums of the year. Better than their first major album released last year and their indie releases (doesn't mean that all their previous stuff wasn't good, obviously, they were also great).
Some songs are astounding, like shiranai hito or fiery; these two tracks are fantastic and might be the best ones of the album.
The overall quality of the album is quite high, their sound is heavy as always, a bit dark, with the vocalist's beautiful and crystal clear voice contrasting with the loud instruments. The bassist's sceams on shiranai hito caught me off guard. Even though screams aren't something new in their songs, it's the first time they're this "violent". The album version of Great Escape is nice, they did a new intro, whose climax leads to the intro of the old version.
Excellent album!

Can some make sense of Sayonara Ponytail's music? Do they release albums or just op/Ed songs?

Can't make sense of their blog or twitter account. Also they block a lot of their tumblr videos in the USA.

Kyuuso Nekokami released their new music video, and it's awesome.
I like how the video and the song is basically talking about their major debut :lol They're even imitating Man With A Mission and Asian Kung-Fu Generation :lol

Bought and listened to TAMTAM's major debut mini-album, For Bored Dancers.
You know, I'm not a fan of bands with female vocalist but TAMTAM is really great. Their style is a mix of experimental/dub/pop/rock, and it works so damn well. The songs are catchy and beautiful. I need to listen to it a little more but I'm already loving it.

Victor Entertainment have been on a roll, they signed a lot of amazing artists in the last two years : SAKANAMON, Handsome Kenya, KEYTALK, CreepHyp, TAMTAM, Kyuuso Nekokami...

Does anyone like Hige Driver?
His band, Hige DriVAN, covered "Kiss Me," and it's quite good. This has been my favorite Hige Driver song for years, so I'm happy to hear it!

Also, new In 197666 song, "BouQuet."

Listening to Yonezu Kenshi's new album, YANKEE.
(he drew the cover himself)
Not gonna lie, I woke up early (well 9am :lol) just to buy it, I was so excited.

It's beautiful. An hour long eargasm. Dude went all out for this album and it's a masterpiece, I'm really impressed. Way better than his first album Diorama released in 2012, I love every single song. Pretty unique sounds, voice... It's atypical yet not pretentious. Catchy songs, slower songs, everything is so polished. Fantastic album.

Also...
I'm keeping track of the upcoming singles/albums I'm interested in. So... Between April 30th and June 25th there are 25 discs I want. Welp.

HaKU released their new PV. The song is featured in a new music game by Konami and so, bacically, in the video, the band is controlled by the players. I love it!
Description of the video :
KONAMI Arcade Game「jubeat」and HaKU's collaboration MV.
The 「jubeat」department of『KONAMI Arcade Championship』top rankers "Kamiwaza"to be performing with HaKU
Using the actual「jubeat」4 cabinets and the highest luminous energy which is 20,000 lumen's projector to light up, it is an MV that pass over the boundary of music and game.

Their new album is coming next week, looking forward to it!

I'm finally going to see one of my favorite Japanese musicians, world's end girlfriend. A shame that Kashiwa Daisuke isn't participating in this event, but I still get to see WEG, Go-qualia, and Vampillia!!!! I'm so excited!!!

Would've been an even greater lineup if Mutyumu were playing :p If Jun Togawa is a guest with Vampilla then I will be jealous.

You're welcome, their whole discography is really good so be sure to check everything they did.

Listened to Bakudan Johnny's (爆弾ジョニー) major debut album released yesterday.
It's heavily influenced by bands like THE BLUE HEARTS, stuff from the late 80s-early 90's. Lot of energy, the whole band giving all they got, and you can't help singing along with them. Overall a solid album, if you like stuff like Stance Punks you will enjoy this band. They're also doing the OP song for the anime Ping Pong this season.

KEYTALK released a new PV today, from their upcoming album which will be released next month.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZOLkCU58tI
Cool tune and video, though it's weird that only one vocalist is singing in this song, I like it better when both vocalists sing.

CreepHyp also released a new video yesterday, as usual it's excellent. New single dropping in two weeks.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0s8iEoETnU
Also they aren't with Victor Entertainment anymore, Universal signed them. Victor lost one of their biggest bands, that's a bit sad.

Also, I've been listening a lot to HaKU lately, they're just so good. I'm hyped for their new album.

Same goes for The Mirraz, ever since they announced their new single next month I've listening more to them. I absolutely love their 2013 releases.
NEW WORLD and スーパーフレア are so good, the latter is amongst my top 3 songs of the band, the others being i want u and ラストナンバー.

Kyary was pretty awesome last night. The music had lots of punch when played at club volume. The support dancers were mental and the live show reproduced the lunacy of her PVs surprisingly well. Close to no MCing, a few words in English, mostly Japanese. Song after song, 3 or 4 costume changes, resulting breaks were filled with fun stuff. All the hits were there, Pon Pon Pon almost brought Cologne's Gloria down, the crowd went apeshit.

I'm sure Peru already knows, but Momoiro Clover Z is doing the new Sailor Moon anime theme song. I hope it's as good as Gounn. That's the only song I really like. ;_;
Peru, can you find me another song as awesome as Gounn?

Gounn is not one of my favorite singles of theirs, to be honest! I like it, but they've done bigger and better. Don't know what you've heard so..

This one is my fave, Etsuko Yakushimaru joint - doesn't sound like Gounn but is a weird epic in a wonderfully subdued way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-72Lje6nwg0

Their socialist anthem https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDhFNdmVR5U

Some of the album tracks do go for that world music production of Gounn a bit more.

I don't know if we can say that ONE OK ROCK, the HIATUS or 9mm Parabellum Bullet are similar to Scandal tbh
And their style isn't really pop-rock.

Try Negoto, Scars Borough, SHISHAMO, Good Morning America.
