Jason Schreier hints at Sony Santa Monica's next game NOT being a new IP and progressing well

If they end up preparing a new GoW, then this gonna be tricky. Ragnarok was a fetid piece of work in the story department and looks more a DLC than anything. I can't see them changing Kratos, they probably would love to kill him for good because the character itself stands up against everything modern Sony believe. But at same time it could be a chance to deviate from this crap they made with Ragnarok and start fresh again.
If it ends up being a sequel though, then its a 100% skip from me.
Well we are gonna get a Gow sequel eventually. And they have to continue the story.

One way do we think it will offshoot to different protagonist to get that Avengers Kratos plot about the reveal of the mask thing, that's definitely a mystery, probably a new enemy. And Kratos going to the place in hell where he saw Zeus.
I doubt they will jump right to the big reveal which to me the secret behind the mask, given Ragnarok wasn't the high point in the two games they will have to make this one better, the real Ragnarok hype deserved.

BTW, this is 100% concept art for Santa Monica Studio's next project (remember that Bluepoint is a partner studio on its games):

When this slide was made the "original content" Bluepoint was working on was GoWR, where the whole Bluepoint staff is credited.

So yes, could be Cory's IP SSM that they agreed that after GoWR Bluepoint could support them there, but this could also be just a random placeholder Insomniac had around from maybe some internal pitch (one of the many that don't get greenlighted) when making this presentation, because the equivalent slide they did for Guerrilla they mentioned specific codenames, and Insomniac did use in their case a photo from Guerrilla's office that back then the studio had in their website.

And well, before working in GoWR with SSM they previously worked with Japan Studio, or with ND. I assume they got happy with them in GoWR so pretty likely SSM wanted to have Bluepoint with them again, but I assume Bluepoint isn't limited to work only with them, I suppose they'll choose a project from a studio or another depending on the needs of whatever PS Studios project needs a support team just in the moment after Bluepoint completed their whatever project they're working on.
