I sorry but I don't believe this guy either. First off your girl and sister are missing for days and by (bad) luck just hours after making this thread there is a break in the case and there dead and your best response is, "I'm going to be sick". I know we all have ways of coping but I cant imagine anyone still posting on a damn message board after that.

I hope you are not lying and dicking around but I think you are. Crap like this is why I think these threads "I accidentally cut a artery and I'm bleeding to death GAF...what should I do?" should be banned.
 
I don't think it is completely preposterous to post on a message board during a period of high anxiety/stress if you are alone, however, this seems incredibly suspicious based on the research GAF has been doing into local sites and papers. Has anyone gone so far as to contact the Ashland police and politely ask if there is a missing persons report?

Isn't this something for the next of kin? And wouldn't they refrain from calling it a murder/rape until there was some kind of investigation? I find it really hard to believe that they would just tell just anyone who called the identity of a victim (and doesn't this need to be confirmed by next of kin too?) and the circumstances of the death.
 
It's been almost a full hour since he posted the news he supposedly got from a police officer and nothing has shown up on the wire or on any local news webpages.

The abruptness of JBaird's post breaking the news has this disturbing, haunting ring of truth to it. I unfortunately don't think this is a bad prank.

I'm really sorry JBaird. Get to Ashland as soon as possible. Be with her family and don't lose hope with your girlfriend yet. She could have very well gotten away.. I really hope she did.

Boyfriend is not next of kin. They would be only giving info direct to family
 
I'm sure someone is going to attempt calling the newspaper to have them check into the case. For the doubters, that seems the most sensible thing to do at this point.

Everyone needs to chill for a second.

When asked where JBaird got the information from, he said "Police"

He didn't say he spoke with the police. He's been in contact with his gf's family who has been directly in contact with the police. They could have given him the details.

Just the fact that he hasn't posted for an hour makes even more sense. Maybe the shock of the situation is finally hitting him while we argue about why the news hasn't been picked up by a station yet.... :/

No, about 30 minutes. An hour maybe if there are a lot of details. Some news stories are only a couple of paragraphs when they break and the outlet just expands the story throughout the day as new info comes in.

With most news web sites they usually throw up a story with minimal details and update the story as facts come in. Some sites put up a headline only and build the page behind it as facts come in.
 
Damn, OP's story sounds alot like stuff that I watch on Investigation Discovery and most of them turn up for the worse =/

I'd hate to doubt you, so best of wishes with the search if true :x
