I'm confused, i thought the OP's girlfriend went missing with her car
"My Girlfriend left here (Texas) on the 14th to visit her home town (Tennessee) with her sister for personal reasons. "

In fact, if they just found her, my mind is blown that they would release any information out. How long has it been since they found the body?

Ya, what I said earlier. I find it hard that police would call you up "Yep found her dead and raped", figure there'd be a bit more investigation before claiming such things.

I mean the friend got the info from the cops and was passing it along to him. Over the phone information like that to a non-family member would be peculiar, especially if they "just found" the body.

Oh OK, I understand what you are saying.

This, and usually with missing persons cases like this, the news gets ahold of it pretty quickly. You would think the local (or even state) stations would have something.

They also need to know who the hell they are talking to over the phone. Someone phones up claiming to be a "boyfriend" could just as easily be press. Police need to control the flow of information in order to conduct a thorough investigation.

Also, if the body has just been found, has any family member even had an opportunity to formally ID the deceased?

If this is true, and the police did release the information to anyone, I'd be pretty worried about their investigation methods. I recommend the OP get down there at once. This is troubling.

I'm willing to give him the benefit of doubt since there's no parents to contact at least for a few more hours it should be in the local news right? They don't keep missing girls stuff secret or anything

This could either be the saddest GAF thread ever made, or the greatest account suicide.

If no news story link within the hour
I say fake

I hate to be "that guy", but none of this sounds plausible to me.

When this kind of thing goes down, a cop is not going to bust out "dead and raped" to the *boyfriend* of one of the victims via a phone call. Unless he lives in inner city Detroit, a bit more discretion is used.

If OP is for real, my apologies, but all of this sounds highly suspect.

Can you give us her name, pictures or anything else that might help us search online? Any background info that might help shed light on this tragedy.

I visited all the Nashville and Tenessee news sites. Nothing about this anywhere.

As a cop, I can tell you that we are compelled to release a Media Release when we start a homicide investigation or a suspicious missing person investigation. 'Course, I'm in Canada and rules are different everywhere. But it's really odd there isn't more media on it. Really odd. Especially when the #1 headline for the area is covering some property damage flooding and no other reports of homocides or sexual assaults. These things would be covered on the news sites.

JBaird, forgive me being suspicious. If this is all legit, you need assistance. Most police departments can provide you access to a victim services. They will help you cope, and can relay information to you quite speedily. You may be a suspect initially....just go along with the investigation, and it will speed things up and help the police zero in on the bad guys.

Hell, something like this would normally also be breaking news on CNN.

Not really.

The amount of murders that get national news coverage is pretty small compared to the amount of murders there actually are. There are only so many hours in the day.

Anyone here a member of the AP (Associated Press) that can call Ashland City PD and see if they can get a hint? Even a rejection right out could give a clue.

True, but this is murder with one person still missing who could be alive. Usually those are the ones we see first.

If they're white, it'd be in the news

Police wouldn't tell that kind of information over the phone because they wouldn't have a suspect right away. The op would be a suspect until they verify his story of being home in TX. Something not right, unless the police are just a bunch of slapdicks.

And the fact that an out of state car with sisters having one supposedly found raped and murdered and the other still missing would be all over the news. CNN, Yahoo front page, Nancy Grace, etc.

The fact that we have no other confirmation is a little suspicious.

Usually the police post a BOLO (be on the lookout) for a missing person within a few hours that they are sure the person is really missing, which if it is a SWF, immediately gets picked up by local and state news outlets. Very strange this hasn't happened

Same here, I can't even find anything remotely similar.

At this point I hope he's lying so this is nothing more than a account suicide attempt. :(

Exactly. The more I think about this, the more suspect it sounds.

OP, I live like 15 miles from Ashland city, if I can do anything to help, let me know.

Can you find out if its true? Visit some local news sites, forums with local people, etc.

I'm not going to believe this (because i dont want to!) until I get some evidence this is all true. No offense to the OP, but this is wayy too horrible for me to believe outright.
