'Jeopardy!' Champ Finally Loses
Utah software engineer Ken Jennings has finally ended his record-breaking run on long-running syndicated quiz show "Jeopardy!" sources said. During a taping Tuesday, the 30-year-old Mr. Jennings lost his 75th game, but walked away with around $2.5 million in cash and prizes, the sources said.

Hang out with Steve.
The topic of this thread gives away what the spoiler is, for what other news about Jeopardy could there be?

Well since most of his eps were filmed back in March, most everyone knew he was gonna lose. It was just a question of when, and with how much. Also, they tape 5 episodes a day, 5 days a week. So they can get 25 shows in the can in one week. Thats about 100 shows a month.

I don't remember seeing him wearing the same shit every episode. He changed his outfit 5 times a day?

It has already been said on the show by trebek, and by Jennings when he was on the talk shows a few months back. They do change their clothes after every ep.

Well, they had to have him lose at some point. When it was going to finally come out about this whole "Quiz Show" setup it would be extremely embarrasing. But, it did what they wanted, increased their ratings a bit, something they've been bitter about ever since the plethora of "primetime" game shows a few years back.

Sean Connery: "Oh, it's my lucky day. I'll take, 'The rapists' for $200."

Alex: "That's therapists."

Burt Reynolds: I'll take, whatayacallit, "Ape Tit."

Alex: "It's not "Ape Tit".

I just saw 1/2 an episode on Tue and a whole episode yesterday, all because I wanted to see this guy but hadn't had the chance.

I hope I see more episodes where he keeps on winning, it's just so much fun.

I wish I had seen it since last spring, but I didn't really have a chance, and even now I don't really have a chance, but I made it a point just in case he were to lose...

AWESOME, and VERY, VERY, entertaining in the two episodes I caught.

They revealed it on Regis and Kelly this morning anyways, so I would have known. But still...there's like 6-7 weeks of Ken left.

Here's the Final Jeopardy question that he missed. See if you can get it:

Subject: Companies and Corporations. The Answer: This company has a workforce of 17000 people, whose average working year is only 4 months long.

Still waiting on kottke.org to supply the answer.

Who is Santa Claus?

Edit:

Come to think about it, the answer could very well be NYRA, but I doubt too many people outside of NY know what that is :p

Without doing any research, my guess on that final Jeopardy! question would be this:

H&R Block. You get your W-2 form in January, and you have until April 15th to file your return. I imagine that 17,000 employees sounds about right for the size of the job, and the fact that not every American pays a professional to file their taxes.
