All that Kinect money, which could have been invested in better hardware. At this point, I really think, Kinect is the worst thing ever, that happened to Microsoft. Instead of waiting with the Kinect, until the Xbox One sells great/good, they rushed the whole Xbox One development, which lead to crap like this.

Even, if it's 99,99% unlikely, it would be the best, if they recall the Xbox One and start all over again. Well, maybe not from the beggining, but from somewhere, where the Kinect isn't forced on us and where the Xbox One hardware matters, where games matter and where overall performance matters. Stupid Kinect, stupid "all in one entertainment system". They should focus on those points on a later point, like they did with the Xbox 360.

Also, I'm not sure, if this is known or not, but I heared, how 2 GameStop workers talked about the Xbox One the other day, when I tried to pick up Beta codes for Destiny. They basically said, that they are not allowed to sell any retail console on launch day, instead they are only allowed to give out the pre-ordered ones, so that it looks like the Xbox One is sold out. I don't want to spread lies, but I ensure you, that it's definetely, what they said. I don't know, if it's true or not, but I see no reason, why they should lie.
 
I can now believe it after being answered to. I was hoping that is was similar to power of the Cell too hard like you PS3 fans got to say! Or Lazy Devs as others have said.

Alas... MS made it too hard to make for right off the bat.

Everything is reversed this gen. I fear Red Line of Death for you PS4 fans! :P
 
The subtle and not so subtle hints coming out as we speak has got me locked to this thread. I want to know about the real technical issues CBOAT suggested was the real story here.
 
what if BF4 and Ghosts are 720p on Xbox One but run MUCH smoother than on PS4..? what if the PS4 versions chug like crazy? which one would you rather PLAY? remember what happened with PS3 versions this gen, almost all had framerate issues compared to Xbox 360... i could see history repeating itself again. MS aren't stupid. besides a lot of people only have 720p tvs anyway so they won't miss 1080p. it's just a luxury, not necessary for good gameplay. and do you honestly REALLY trust a Dualshock to be good with FPS shooters? yeah no thanks

anyway.. whatever the case you can play Titanfall ONLY on Xbox LIVE ;)

I honestly can't believe the fuss being kicked up about this. Microsoft still have amazing technologies like Kinect and stuff. Xbox is a great brand these days and no one really cares about Sony anymore so no matter who has the bigger numbers, Xbox will be the victor.

what is gaf definition of a clear fanboy and someone who favor one system over the other?

Me? since I started gaming, I loved the Gamecube, then the early Xbox 360 and then when Xbox failed to come out with new exclusive, and when I got bored of Halo 3 after 3 years. Traded it in for a PS3 and havent look back since.

I like Sony, since they first mistake with the PS3 they really have been stepping up and make better exclusive while doing their best to provide quality services like PSN+.

I got a PS4 pre-ordered which im definitely picking up, and an Xbox One. but with all these bad rumors (or maybe they should be upgrade to unconfirmed news now) I might go cancel my Xbox One, save the money down the line, wait for an eventual Titanfall bundle that will be cheaper or something.

hope that doesnt make me a clear fanboy..

When ever there is something(rumor, negative story on xbox) going on (like now) and Gies twits a lot to prove how smart he is. Every time he he has these moments where he pretends to not care and has these twits where he twits to himself about something else, just to prove how much he "doesn't care". And every time someone seems to be there to bust him.

Also this holiday season Sony will drop the Naughty Dog bomb. While MS devs are fumbling with tech demos, Naughty Dog will show us a great looking game at the VGAs. Ready at Dawns can also wow people.

I know it's usually reserved for jokes, but seeing Arthur of all people seemingly come down on xbone, I'm actually considering canceling my day one xbox one pre order I've almost fully paid off.

Its probably nothing we haven't known for months, but Fuck embargoes, if the press really have something to say that is consumer relevant and not just press inconvienance, they need to break this shit. I know this is the exact type of post where Arthur would say "bla bla bla internet overreacting", but it's no longer people feeding off of things he thinks are misinformed.

Isnt equating this to being similar to the ps3 vs 360 situation a pretty big leap?

Like isnt it more comparable to sub hd ps360 games vs Wii in terms of resolution?

I hate to add to the Gies pile on, but I find these tweets quite revealing. He's saying yes, yes there's an issue, and man, it's so eyeroll worthy...but only that: it's silly, ridiculous, and ultimately trivial. He's not defending Microsoft - after all, here he is rolling his eyes at them - just clarifying the nature of the problem.

What I think he's inadvertently clarifying here, though, is what he himself is willing to acknowledge as a problem. "Think harder eyeroll." In his attempt to make sure to seem neutral, he maneuvered around the potential technical issues not by claiming there's no problem at all, but by claiming what's actually going on is, in fact, somehow worse. So it seems he's unwilling to make a big fuss about things like differences in resolution, but he's willing to pretend to feel indignant about some red herring (he's probably hinting it has to do with some stupid policy unrelated to the X1 itself) he knows no one will care about.

For all I know, Gies is right (in some way or another). Nonetheless, it's interesting to see the blatant bias there.

He is actually one of the few IGN people I enjoy. I wouldn't say he is a cynical person, he just goes for the cynical joke. I find that his actual views tend to put him on the side of a realist. He also doesn't really show any bias from what I have heard out of him, which is apparent by the fact that he will go on just about any podcast at IGN and fit right in.

I'm a sad old man who tends to spend 90% of my gaming time on racing games on console and PC. So as long as the Xbox One isn't made of spider-wasps and cancer I'm still going to be there on day one playing Forza (and I have a PS4 preordered too). I follow all this stuff, I know the Xbox isn't going to be the most powerful console, but it has an exclusive I will play regularly for a couple of years. Two years from one product is good value for money for me - I'm still playing Forza 4.

But I can still understand why everyone is also having a lot of fun with all this commotion. Folks like a good bloody console war. I remember the Spectrum v C64 arguments in the playground at school.

For now I'm happy to look forward to the games I want to play and enjoy watching all the fun play out here. I don't do console wars because I'll go where the games I want to play are - but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy watching the fun.

But I am also watching for something serious that might affect my experience of the two new consoles. Obviously the bigger issue comes if there's something seriously wrong with Xbox One at launch. I lost two X360 consoles to the RROD.

The writing was on the wall for a long time. MS's marketshare will do terribly as a result of having inferior multiplats for the entirety of this gen, really is a big oversight for them.

The ppl saying it doesn't matter that there are differences big or small will be in for a rude awakening when performance directly translates into sales/marketshare for this gen. Plus MS has shown nothing with Kinect to justify the price, it would be the most hilarious console launch in history if it weren't for PS3 since the 360 marketshare is nothing compared to the PS2.

MS engineer: that will need 3gb RAM
MS suit 2:thats ok 5gb is fine the wii has shown us that graphics are not needed we just need it powerful enough so it run multiplats
