Hell yeah:

Unless they could do House of M, there really aren't many relatively modern X-Men stories I'd say are worth a damn.

The limp-dicked way they attempted to adapt Whedon's Astonishing X-Men was a massive waste.

I suppose as long as they're stuck to the idea of only doing the safe, PG-13 ensemble films you're right. It's a pity, considering the success of solo films like Deadpool and Logan.

Kinberg? Has he directed before? Seems like a pretty huge responsibility to dump into his lap. Hope he isn't taken off guard by it all.

EDIT: Wait, Lilandra is a villain? What the fuck?

Well if you think of it from the X-Men's point of view during the Phoenix Saga, she was something of a villain in that she was trying to kill Jean (though she was simply trying to protect existence at the same time)

Yeah, I know, she's not actually a flat-out villain. In the wrong hands they may miss what makes her an interesting character.

I like Jennifer Lawrence but not as Mystique. Got dang it Let the new kids shine. And Kinberg? Bleh.

I'm just salty because Cyclops will never be done justice. Fuck Fox.

I'm trying to forget it ever existed.

Funny, isn't it? Singer spent a bunch of time trying to undo Ratner and Kinberg's Phoenix saga, and now we're back again at the same train station. Maybe everyone's learned something in the process. I'll cross my fingers for that, for whatever good it will do.

After Apocalypse I have no hope for this franchise anyway. I liked DOFP a lot but man they dropped the ball with the last one. Just a piece of shit.

can they get rebecca romijn back

Even if they did, which would be awesome, Mystique and Magneto shouldn't be such central characters in every single movie. I would've liked to see more of the x-men team (which may happen but highly doubtful if they spending the money to get these actors back)
