Fuck Geno Smith. Fuck Fitzpatrick. And fuck the god damn jets.

Lol, Patriette's fan?

Pats are tanking so they won't have to face Pittsburgh in the playoffs.

No, that was a brilliant strategic move......until it backfired.

But how you elect to kick after winning the toss though?

First team basically has to score a TD. Tom Brady had been getting his ass handed to him by pass rush and Belichick probably thought brady wouldn't be able to mount a full TD drive and figured his defense could keep Jets out of the end zone. Worst case scenario having full faith in his defense would be Jets FG to be reciprocated or beaten by subsequent drive. His goal was to make Jets punt and all Brady has to do is get into FG range. Figured his defense was playing better than his offense.

Was it a wise decision? Hindsight says no. But I can kinda see his reasoning. And it's all based on the new "first team to receive has to score 7 to win" aspect.

That was a typical Belichick move designed to fuck with the Jets psychologically (he has a history of pulling shit like this against the Jets). By deferring, Belichick was basically telling the Jets "I don't think your offense can score a TD".

It was a dumb decision born out of arrogance, especially when it was clear that Brady and Gronk were getting into a rhythm towards the end of regulation.

So, is it official, did IK punch Geno out of a starting job, or is that jaw healing slower than expected?

6 to 10 weeks for a broken jaw seems way too optimistic. In fighting, if you get your jaw broken it'll probably be at least 6 months till you can fight again. Probably at least 3 months until you can even have contact.

I Remember when people laughed when I said Fitzpatrick would be good for us, and that the Jets would be 10-6 this year... I remember those days...

Definitely worth the bump.

I thought the Jets would be a 9-7 or 8-8, partly because nobody would have thought that Indy, Dallas, and Miami would be just as bad as they are. Going into the season, I think virtually everybody would have thought that Indy and Dallas -- playoff teams last year -- would have easily beat NYJ, and that Miami would probably split.

Lions fans warned you bro

Not that I disagree about Suh being overpaid, but I HATE when people act like sack totals are the total view of how a player does, especially interior Dline. You expect people on the edge to get sacks, their job is to do that. Dline are meant to stuff runs. And the Fins lost Wake like half the season ago, which crippled them a lot.

I don't have PFF to look at Suh's total play this year. But he moved on from a bad start until they switched coaches and has been playing better. I still dislike him a lot for the dirty plays (he even kicked Morris' helmet in a Skins game).

Terrance Knighton is an amazing NT, and he has maybe 1-2 sacks this year. But he swallows up double teams nearly every play, making every one else's job a lot easier.

You're right. The Lions defense was good during one of Suh's five years here (last year). Before that we couldn't stop the run. The problem with Suh was that he focused so much on bullrushing QBs that you could easily exploit his aggressiveness with the run game. He's very one note and disappears against top o-linemen.

Not saying he's bad. But he's not going to really dominate without help. And I'd imagine his contract will make it hard to improve that roster defensively. I'm very glad he's gone TBH. Ziggy Ansah has turned into a top DT over the last couple years. We're going to have to pay him soon, and I'm not sure we could have with Suh (and Stafford and Megatron) eating up the cap. Like us, Miami also has a shitty QB eating up cap. Dunno how that's going to work out.
