The loss of trust pretty much sums up most problems in the gaming industry between devs/platform holders vs the audience.

Even here when people whine about other people calling something woke (even if it isn't), is rooted in people just not trusting the intent of these companies...and there are plenty of good reasons to not.

Microsoft raising the price of Game Pass, just tells me they want to lock me into a service that will not just raise with time but spike the cost of, and at the same time push cloud streaming to even more make you a perpetual renter in the digital world. Steam doesn't give me DRM-free GoG ownership, but at least games I bought from the 2000s still work 20 years later today.
