The CCA was fucking with his work really bad, he's talked about it how a lot of his work ended up being random monster serials with onomatopoeia names (which funny enough, spawned Fin Fang Foom). He wanted to write something actual adults could enjoy and not for five year olds.

I hate to be morbid, but I'd be surprised if Stan Lee makes it to 2018. As others have said it's really common for older husbands to pass, shortly after their wives.

My absolute favorite Stan and Joanie story was on one of Kevin Smith's stand up specials. During Mallrats filming Stan had a scene with Jason Lee where Stan convinces the Brody character to go after his girl. In the Scene Stan recounts having a running contest with Mick Jagger over how many women they could seduce, but ultimately it was the one that got away that he pined for. Stan, concerned that this would upset Joan, convinced Smith to add a scene with some dialogue about how he just told Brody what he needed to hear.
