Parties have different factions that decide to team up and work together. The problem is that the 5 main groups that make up the GOP (Establishment, Moderate, Evangelical, Tea Party, and Libertarian) don't really like each other anymore.

They're at each other's throats, and while Est/Mod might work together, the other 3 are done (there aren't many Libertarians, but still). The Tea Party/Evangelical group won't work with the Est/Mod group anymore. As long as that happens, "Republicans" will always hate their nominee and political figures. It's a full-blown party disintegration.

A few months ago, people here were saying that it was impossible for Trump to be the nominee. Now today, even with polls showing he has a lead over Clinton, people are like :"You can't trust these polls!"

Pointing to some wacky online Sanders fans doesn't really get close to things like Boehner openly crapping in Cruz's mouth, or basically every elected official, journalist and political insider spending months waving the #NeverTrump flag up to the moment the man crosses the victory line.

the majority at the gop convention will fall in line like they always do so they can lessen the losses in nov. you might have some people trying to get some things started but it won't be anything big.
