At the very least Heard should be fired too, but of course companies are fucking cowards doing it to a woman who was made to look like a saint in a court ruling, despite there being plenty of evidence that she is an abusive bitch.

While I get the argument about the violence not being mutually exclusive that’s being tossed around in this thread. I highly disagree it makes any sense in this case.
If the sun calls me a murderer, knowing I killed someone in self defense, that’s defamation. That a person died doesn’t excuse the use of a phrase with specific connotations about intent and context.
Similarly the term “wife beater” implies a context that very explicitly DOES NOT EXIST in this case. It lays the blame squarely on Jonny Depp with Heard the victim.
There is sometimes grey area in relationships. It can be hard to know who did what, when and why. But this isn’t one of those situations. Heard is clearly a husband beater, and the sun is victim blaming and defaming Depp as the instigater and aggressor.
Terrible call by the judge.
