I think some are fanatically convinced, but another explanation is that they see this as hurting their simple weapon / agenda. They have banked on a very easy to rally people around, no critical thinking required, hardline manifesto and war path (“presumption of innocence” not applying to their targets, they enjoy being judge jury and social executioner).

These kind of cases risks giving people they see as their enemies a weapon or shield of their own to push back with and getting more support from the general public and media (which was more easily swayed by their arguments so far). Their enemies are the people they try to label all as abusers or defenders of abusers but are really mostly people that do believe in preventing innocents going to jail even if in some circumstances evil doers get off scot-free.

This is why they do not respond to logic IMHO, they do understand the point, they understand it too well and are afraid of it so they have to ignore it and go on the attack.
See the main problem the Catholic Church had with Galileo and Copernicus: the problem was not contradicting the Gospels or sacred Scripture, but it was the fear it would unravel the philosophical system they built to create the underpinnings of their faith (which still burned them as they remember their origins when they were laughed off the streets in ancient Greece, but it is another story).
Since these groups right now, SJW’s and anti-SJW’s, are acting like religious groups well… it all makes sense and the patterns match.

I've been watching the trial for several weeks, don't think there is much extra research I'm qualified to do.

Just keep in mind verdict won't necessarily come today. Jury is back in session today, but they can take as much time as they need.

Hopefully they'll be quick though.

I mean... this is one of those cases where its beyond obvious. Everyone in that room knows (and saw!) that Heard is a psychopath whose carreer is build on looks and manipulation. To strive for the ideal picture like so many young girls nowadays get brainwashed into.

But if Turd still nets a win, it will show you exactly how broken the system is. It would normalize this kind of shit behavior.

And it would be a scapegoat to stop believing in said legal system.

Heard's carreer should be doneso. Even more so because Heard has yet to share a shred of honesty in all of this.

I think all the nut jobs use that. Flat earthers, vaccination conspiracy people... Basically, everybody who can't prove anything they say and try to prove the burden of proof to someone else.

The hubris is strong. Why on earth would I ever assume my own "research" would be better than people who do that for a living?

It is okay to admit you don't know everything, but some people have a hard time with that.

There is a shit ton of evidence to go over; 7 specific statements that must be debated.. and then damages to be decided if Johnny wins.

Yes anything can happen, they can whip all of that out in a few hours... but it's unlikely.

It's rather ridiculous lawyer fees on their end for what they had to do.

It never occurs to anyone that #metoo can be applied to women aswell. Shocking, i know.

Actually (as this whole trial proves) women get away with it because:
  • #metoo is mostly about men being pervs
  • Women are far better/sly at hiding their behavior, as Amber Heard has proven.

In the best case scenario, this case proves something most people with a logical brain already know, namely that women can and will be just as guilty of doing #metoo as everybody else out there. Big shocker. Female humans are just as disgusting as men. Who knew. - Quark, DS9

Its just that society as a whole has made it so that #metoo is predominantly associated with men.

I feel like even if the jurors are pretty certain about a decision they want to go through everything just to laugh about how absurd the case was. So I'm expecting maybe Wed or Thurs.

0 chance they haven't NOT done it over the course of 6 weeks in some shape or form; be it a partner, close friend or outright searching themselves *secretly*. It's just human nature.

A few days I can see, but 6 weeks? I don't buy it.

...which is more likely than not, good for Depp.
