You'd see way less consistent and more confusing behavior from someone with BPD. Also potentially more disturbing behavior; there's also an element of feeling incredibly impulsive and having really difficult to control urges to do things you know are wrong.. however you know they are wrong, feel tremendous guilt/etc. and would take responsibility for the actions. However w/o medication/therapy you would keep making the same mistakes...

Like cheating for instance is common among BPD sufferers; and then legit insane guilt from it.. then you just rinse/repeat.. same with drug addiction.

The feeling of compulsion is hard to describe. Your brain sort of disconnects and you do really pretty crazy shit.. super risky shit too... drive insanely fast for instance.. then on the daily you might drive like a grandpa.

I'm certainly not trying to lean into/increase any stigma. It's what a doctor told me personally but TBH there isn't a ton of scientific work behind studying that (and the general populace in general.. it's not like cheating is uncommon.)

But everyone is different, diseases can be more/less severe and of course a million other factors. Was really just more describing that at times the behavior of someone w/ BPD can really be disconnected from who they appear to be much of the time, because of the lack of inhibition during some mood swings.

EUPD is one of many issues I have unfortunately. My biggest problem especially being face to face with people is the struggle to read someone's body language, behaviour, emotion. I can misunderstand situations sometimes. When I was about eight I was taken to an aspergers assessment and narrowly missed a diagnosis.
